The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has cancelled the Wind
Advisory. 

Winds through the pass have diminished. Expect occasional gusty 
winds through tomorrow morning.

.SYNOPSIS...
A series of low pressure systems will continue to track northward
across the eastern Bering Sea into the Chukchi Sea, bringing
rainy conditions to the west coast through the weekend. Southerly
flow over Interior will promote relatively dry, warm conditions
through the weekend. This setup will likely result in the
development of Chinook winds Saturday into Sunday through Alaska
Range Passes.

.DISCUSSION...
Aloft 500 mb...Models in good agreement through the weekend
before diverging early next week. A 539 dam upper low just east
of Wrangel Island will continue to track north to the Arctic
through Saturday. Another 541 dam low will move into Bristol Bay
this afternoon. This low will track across Saint Lawrence Island
by 4 pm Saturday then continue to track to the north before
weakening. Another upper low will move into the western Bering
sea on Sunday. As troughing remains over the west coast,
southerly flow will persist over the Interior into the weekend.

Surface...Weak 1002 mb low east of Wrangel Island will
continue to track to the north into the Arctic. Weak low pressure
in the western Bering will deepen to 994 mb over Bristol Bay by
Friday evening then track to the north and be near Saint Lawrence
Island by 4 pm Saturday afternoon. This low will continue to
track to the north on Sunday. Another low will develop in
the western Bering sea on Sunday. Weak high pressure will remain
over the Interior through the weekend.

North Slope...
Southerly flow across the Brooks Range will support well above
average temperatures into the weekend. Rain associated with
Bering Sea low pressure will be confined generally west of
Wainwright along the immediate coast and far western Brooks Range.
Around a quarter inch of rain is expected along the immediate
coast west of Point Lay through Saturday, with between a half an
inch to an inch of rain in southerly upslope favored areas of the
western Brooks Range.

West Coast and Western Interior...
A series of low pressure systems along the West Coast will
continue to track north through this weekend. Rainfall will be
concentrated along southerly upslope favored areas including the
southern Seward Peninsula, Nulato Hills, and Western Brooks Range.
These areas will see around 0.50 to 1 inch of rain through
Sunday, with most other areas of the immediate coast expected to
see around a half inch of rain.

Central and Eastern Interior...
Warming trend will continue across the Interior into the weekend.
Highs near 70 degrees for much of the Central Interior beginning
Today and lasting into the weekend. Chinook conditions will begin
to ramp up on Saturday. Gusty south winds around 50 mph will
develop through Alaska Range passes but expected to stay below
advisory level at this time. Winds will decrease on Sunday.

Coastal Hazard Potential Days 3 and 4...None.

.FIRE WEATHER...
Southerly flow will support above average temperatures and
relatively dry conditions across much of the Interior and North
Slope. Relative humidity will bottom out near 35 percent for the
eastern Interior through Saturday. Near red flag conditions
possible near Delta Junction and south along the Alaska range
on Saturday due to gusty winds and RH values 30 to 40 percent.
Southerly gap winds will begin to increase through the Alaska
Range on Saturday. Winds will decrease on Sunday. The West Coast
will remain showery as a series of lows impact the coast over the
next few days.

.HYDROLOGY...
Rivers will continue to fall over the eastern half of the state.
Ongoing rainfall in western Alaska will only bring minimal rises
