The tonight period forecast is in good shape. High clouds are just
starting to reach Corson County. Only adjustments made were to
lower tonight's min temp forecast a few more degrees (already
within 3 degrees of tonight's current low temp forecast in some
areas), and introduce some "light" patchy fog mention mainly
within the James River valley toward daybreak. Increasing
cloudiness overnight should help keep fog from really getting
going. Updates are out.

Satellite showing clouds decreasing from the northwest this
afternoon. This trend will continue as subsidence from a surface
high pressure ridge slides across the cwa tonight. There will still
be some flurries in these low clouds into the early evening across
the east. With this clearing, winds becoming light southwest, and
fresh snowfall, expect temperatures to fall quickly this evening.
Xscts show mid and high level clouds increasing later tonight into
Wednesday which will hold off the temperature fall later on.

level warm advection on west winds will bring warmer temperatures on
Wednesday as a surface trough/Pacific front moves through the
region. Highs will be in the 20s east in the cwa to the 30s along
and west of the Missouri river.

Main issue will be the potential for ground blizzard conditions
Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Beefed up winds a bit from
previous forecast, based on the latest model trends. Although, feel
the strongest surge of winds will be immediately after the arctic
front passage, with things stabilizing a bit after that and up
through 12Z Thursday. There will likely be some issues with blowing
snow and reduced visibility and will continue with the watch for the
time being. Whether or not though we can get 1/4 mile visibility or
less for extended times in still in question. Aside from that, the
weather pattern looks to remain active with a series of clipper
systems moving southeast through the region during the extended
portion of the forecast.

As for temperatures, arctic air will dominate early on in the
period. Thursday's highs will likely remain below zero over the
eastern CWA. Friday may struggle to reach zero as well over eastern
parts of the forecast area. A brief warm up this weekend, but then
models show another surge of arctic air moving in to start off next
week.

There's one stripe of MVFR stratus left now. It's about to move
into the KABR terminal. This area of cloudiness should continue
to drift off to the south and east and likely dissipate over the
next 6 hours. There is a sct/bkn layer of VFR high clouds working
across the region as well, and that should help slow the potential
development of fog through Wednesday morning. The final 6 hours of
this TAF valid period is when things really start to deteriorate.
A strong arctic cold frontal passage will bring a layer of sub-
VFR stratus (perhaps some light snow falling out of it) into the
area, and some rather strong northerly winds, which are expected
to produce considerable blowing snow Wednesday night into Thursday
morning.
