This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of north and central
New Mexico.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A complex winter system will continue to evolve today, as snow
continues and a wintry mix across the eastern plains. Ice
accumulations near a few hundredths of a inch are possible,
particularly south of the Interstate 40 corridor. Precipitation will
change to rain during the afternoon for many valley areas, as snow
levels rise throughout the day. Given that temperatures will stay
near to above freezing, some slick road conditions can be expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

The second of a series of winter storms will arrive Friday, mainly in
the form of high elevation snow and valley rain. But, a changeover to
all snow is expected Friday night as a strong Pacific cold front
sweeps from west to east. Travel impacts may be possible along the
Interstate 40 and 25 corridors. Lingering snow showers will continue
over the northern mountains Saturday morning. Additionally, strong
winds with gusts up to 50-55 mph will impact along and east of the
central mountain chain, leading to potential power outages and
hazardous travel conditions along major interstates. Temperatures
warm Sunday- Tuesday as a ridge builds over the state. But, another
storm system is on the horizon mid-week for high elevation snow and
valley rain across western and northern New Mexico.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters are encouraged to report snowfall amounts through the
National Weather Service Albuquerque web site at weather.gov/abq or
