* Forecast...The Illinois River at Chewey is expected to rise above 
  flood stage late Saturday evening and continue to rise to near 13.1
  feet by Sunday morning. The river is expected to fall below flood 
  stage Sunday afternoon.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from near Fidler's Bend
  to near Hanging Rock. Water begins to affect access to Winset 
  Hollow. Road access near the river to residential homes southeast 
  of Chewey Bridge may be compromised. Water impacts 630 Road east of
  the Cherokee/Adair County line. Extreme turbulence makes the river 
  unsafe for floating.

  Monday afternoon.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, moderate flooding occurs from Hanging Rock 
  downstream towards Tahlequah. Access roads east of the Combs Bridge
  near Eagles Bluff will be impassable. At 13.0 feet, minor flooding 
  occurs from near Hanging Rock downstream towards Tahlequah. Access 
  roads east of the Combs Bridge near Eagles Bluff may be threatened.

CONCERNING TAF SITES KTUL/KRVS/KBVO/KMLC/KXNA/KFYV/KFSM/KROG.
Widespread rain showers will continue to lift northeast through
Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas through this evening with
scattered rain chances late tonight into early Saturday morning.
An isolated embedded thunder potential will be possible...though
for now will only mention at MLC due the slightly greater
potential. During the mid/late morning hours Saturday...rain
showers are forecast to become more widespread again with a
thunder potential across the CWA ahead of a cold front that looks
to move into the region just outside this TAF period. The result
of continued rain chances will be ceilings varying between LIFR
to IFR with a few periods of MVFR ceilings possible across the
CWA through the TAF period. Visibilities also look to fall below
VFR and vary between IFR and MVFR through the period.

DISCUSSION...
Upper level shortwave within the southwesterly upper level flow
was lifting northeast across Texas this morning. A widespread
area of warm advection interacting with this wave was aiding in a
continued development of rain showers with isolated/scattered
embedded thunder lifting north- northeast across North
Texas...Oklahoma and Arkansas. Across Eastern Oklahoma and
Northwest Arkansas...precip was currently located south of
Interstate 40 with temperatures in the mid 30s to mid 40s over the
CWA.

Through tonight...widespread rain showers with isolated embedded
thunder are expected to continue to spread northeastward across
the CWA as the shortwave moves through the region. Latest data
suggests that the heaviest rainfall axis looks to line up across
Southeast Oklahoma through Northwest Arkansas. Current hourly rain
rates were ranged from near a tenth of an inch to up toward a
half inch within the stronger showers. Thus...additional rainfall
amounts in the one to two inch range are forecast over Southeast
Oklahoma...far Eastern Oklahoma and also Northwest Arkansas...a
half to around one inch in Northeast Oklahoma...and lesser amounts
northwest of Interstate 44. In response...the flood watch has
been expended back west and north to include most locations along
and east of Highway 69 in Oklahoma and also all of Northwest
Arkansas.

Widespread rains...ongoing cloud cover along with the current cool
airmass entrenched across the region should keep temperatures from
warming all that much. Dewpoints slowly increasing from south to
north should be the one helping factor for high temperatures
today to get into the mid 40s to low 50s across the CWA. For the
morning update have added minor tweaks to hourly temp/dewpoint
grids... adjusted hourly pops and increased afternoon QPF over
Northwest Arkansas based on the mentioned above and current
trends/observations.

DISCUSSION...
Widespread rain showers with an isolated embedded thunder
potential will continue to spread across Eastern Oklahoma and
Northwest Arkansas this afternoon and tonight. Overnight...rain
showers will continue to be possible with an increasing
thunderstorm potential across Southeast Oklahoma into West Central
Arkansas after midnight as a frontal boundary lifts toward the
region. Thunderstorm development along the boundary could allow
for a limited strong to severe storm potential with large hail
being the main threat.

The heavy rainfall axis looks to set up across locations mainly
along and East of Highway 69 in Eastern Oklahoma through
Northwest Arkansas through tonight. Rainfall amounts in the 1 to 2
inch range through tonight could be possible over these
locations. A flood watch remains in effect through Saturday
afternoon as additional rains on top of recent rains will increase
flash flooding as well as river flooding concerns.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Rain shower and thunderstorm chances look to be ongoing across
Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas Saturday ahead of a cold
front forecast to move through the region Saturday afternoon and
evening. Instability interacting with the front will help to
create a slight risk of severe weather mainly across parts of
Southeast Oklahoma into West Central Arkansas. Another round of
heavy rainfall across Southeast Oklahoma into Northwest Arkansas
will continue flash flooding as well as river flooding concerns
Saturday. Precipitation looks to taper off from west to east
Saturday afternoon and should exit with the front by Saturday
evening.

Drier conditions are forecast Sunday into the beginning of next
week. However...shower and thunderstorm chances look to return by
mid week as another low pressure system approaches.
