This hazardous weather outlook is for east central...north
central and northeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible during the morning hours
with the best chances being near and south of Interstate 70. The
strongest storms will be capable of hail up to quarter size,
gusty winds, and localized heavy rainfall.

There is a low end chance for a few thunderstorms during the late
afternoon and evening, primarily across east central and
northeast Kansas. If thunderstorms were able to form, large hail
and damaging winds would be possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.

...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTHERN DICKINSON...WEST CENTRAL
GEARY AND SOUTHEASTERN CLAY COUNTIES UNTIL 645 AM CDT...

At 557 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Talmage, moving northeast at 20 mph.

Nickel size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Abilene, Chapman, Moonlight and Talmage.

This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 272 and 291.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
