Light and variable winds this morning will become more north-northwest this afternoon for most of the terminals, except for more northeasterly over the southwest Florida sites. && .Prev Discussion... /issued 428 AM EDT Mon Oct 29 2018/ DISCUSSION... The high pressure that has given us our first taste of fall will start to move easterly for the early part of our work week. This will shift our winds to a more east to northeasterly direction causing the temperature and humidity to slowly increase through the week. Our next cold front will start to head our way on Thursday switching our winds to the south and continue to increase the humidity. The extra humidity will help to spark a few showers in the afternoon but should stay isolated in nature. Models are in pretty good agreement that the front will be pushing through the area on Friday and early Saturday morning from north to south. This will bring with it the best chance of showers over the next seven days. This front is expected to stall either in south Florida or in the Keys for the weekend. This will bring us some drier and cooler air into next weekend but will not be as significant as what we saw the last couple of days. AVIATION... VFR will prevail at all terminals during the next 24 hours. Light and variable winds will become northerly during the afternoon with some high cirrus clouds. MARINE... Winds and seas will start to diminish as we go through our Monday as high pressure moves away. Winds will be out of a northerly direction today before shifting to the east for Tuesday and Wednesday.
