* Forecast: The river will continue rising to near 8.4 feet by after

  Sunday morning.
* Impact: At 8.5 feet: Water approaches the steps to an elevated 
  residence on Old Magnolia Road in Wakulla County. Other elevated 
  structures begin to be surrounded by water. Portions of the Natural
  Bridge State Park near the river begin to flood in Leon County.

IFR/MVFR conditions will prevail along with periods of rain
mainly at TLH, ABY and VLD at through this evening. A gradual
return to prevailing VFR conditions is expected by 15z-18z
Saturday. Rain should be ending at all terminals by daybreak.
Clouds will be slow to clear out Saturday with a cig mainly at
5kft.

.PREV DISCUSSION [344 PM EST]...

.NEAR TERM [Through Tonight]...

The upper low over southwestern Louisiana this afternoon will move
slowly northeast overnight to a position over northwestern Alabama
by 12Z Saturday. The surface low over the ArkLaTex will be in Middle
Tennessee by that time with the trailing cold front extending south
across Georgia into the eastern Florida Big Bend. Widespread 1.5-2
inch rainfall has been observed across most of the region south of
U.S. 84. However, the southeast Big Bend has seen 2.5-3.5 inches.
This area stands to see another 2-3 inches and is the most likely
area to see any flooding. We have trimmed back the flash flood watch
to include only our four eastern Big Bend counties. Widespread low
clouds and rain have stabilized the boundary layer which is
preventing 40+ knots winds aloft from mixing down to the surface,
even in the heavier showers. We anticipate the severe threat to
remain minimal unless we get an unanticipated gap in the clouds to
increase low level instability.

.SHORT TERM [Saturday Through Sunday Night]...

The deep upper level low will continue to move eastward, reaching
the Tennessee Valley Saturday and mid-Atlantic on Sunday.
Meanwhile, low level ridging will begin to slowly build eastward
from the southwestern U.S. into the Plains by Sunday. Scattered
areas of rain may linger over our eastern zones tomorrow morning
behind the front, but should clear out of our area by noon. After
that, expect mild conditions with highs in the 60s tomorrow, upper
50s to mid 60s on Sunday and lows in the low-mid 40s.

.LONG TERM [Monday Through Friday]...

There remains some uncertainty with the long term forecast. The
GFS continues to show dry conditions through the rest of the
week, while the Euro would sweep another frontal system near the
northern Gulf coast Wednesday night through Thursday night. For
now, keeping PoPs in the 20-40% range Wednesday night and Thursday
with about 20% chances Thursday night. Highs will be in the 60s.
Lows will be in the 40s to low 50s.

.MARINE...

Strong southwest winds will gradually fall below 20 knots
tomorrow, but with ongoing swell, wave heights are still expected
to remain elevated through Saturday evening. Winds will fall below
15 knots on Sunday and seas will lower to 1 to 2 feet by Monday.

.FIRE WEATHER...

No fire weather concerns.

.HYDROLOGY...

Most of the region south of HWY 84 has received around 1.5-2 inches
of rain since last night, though the Big Bend has seen the highest
totals so far, with about 2.5-3.5 inches. Two more rounds of
moderate rain could pile on another 2-3 inches on top of that, which
could cause low-lying areas and those with poor drainage to flood.
We have trimmed back the flash flood watch to include only our four
eastern Big Bend counties.

Some river points have already begun to rise as a result of today's
rainfall. Some were already in flood stage and will remain in flood
longer, while others have moved into action stage and are poised to
rise to flood stage by early next week. For the latest information
