...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT WEST CENTRAL
CAMPBELL...NORTHWESTERN PITTSYLVANIA...SOUTHERN BEDFORD AND
NORTHEASTERN FRANKLIN COUNTIES...

Until 230 PM EDT

At 130 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Western Smith
Mountain Lake, moving north at 10 mph. Scattered thunderstorms will
continue in this area throughout the afternoon.

Locations impacted include...
Rocky Mount...
Gretna...
Stewartsville...
Huddleston...
and Moneta.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

If you are on or near Smith Mountain Lake, get out of the water and
move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out
to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
