...Moderate to heavy rain to persist east of the Blue Ridge until
midnight...

A band of moderate rain with embedded heavier showers will
continue to track northeast across the region over the next hour
or two before exiting. Added rainfall of around an inch could
occur especially along and east of Highway 29 through midnight.
Locally heavy downpours may also result in ponding of water on
area roadways along with possible poor drainage flooding.
Motorists should be alert for reduced visibility within the rain
and fog over the next couple of hours.
