...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY
AFTERNOON...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* A portion of central North Carolina, including the following
areas, Alamance, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Durham,
Edgecombe, Forsyth, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Halifax,
Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, Orange,
Person, Randolph, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Vance,
  Wake, Warren, Wayne, and Wilson.

* Through Saturday afternoon

* Periods of rain, which will be heavy at times, is expected into
Saturday. Storm total rainfall of one to two inches can be
expected, with locally higher amounts possible. In addition,
melting snow across the interior Piedmont will contribute to
  additional runoff.

* The rainfall and melting snow could produce flash flooding,
particularly in low lying and poor drainage areas near creeks,
streams, and ditches. Street flooding may also occur, likely
exasperated by leaves and lingering snow blocking storm
drains. In addition, minor to moderate flooding of streams and
main stem rivers is possible over the weekend and into next
  week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should
flash flood warnings be issued.
