SOUTHWESTERN PROWERS...NORTHWESTERN BACA...EAST CENTRAL LAS ANIMAS
AND SOUTHERN BENT COUNTIES...

At 927 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Up to two and a half inches of rain 
have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to continue.

Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern
Prowers...northwestern Baca...east central Las Animas and southern 
Bent Counties.  This includes Rule Creek, Caddoa Creek, Mud Creek, 
and Clay Creek and their tributaries, as well as the smaller creeks 
and tributaries of the Purgatoire River in southeast Bent county.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to an inch are possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

SOUTHWESTERN PROWERS...NORTHWESTERN BACA...EAST CENTRAL LAS ANIMAS
AND SOUTHERN BENT COUNTIES...

At 1011 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have already 
fallen with the heaviest amounts centered around 18 miles south 
southwest of Lamar. Flash flooding is expected to continue

Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern
Prowers...northwestern Baca...east central Las Animas and southern 
Bent Counties. Cat Creek which drains into Clay Creek around 13 
miles south of Lamar will be particularly dangerous.  Other creeks 
and their feeder streams impacted will be Rule Creek, Caddoa Creek, 
Mud Creek and the tributaries to the Purgatoire River in southeast 
Bent County.
