...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON...
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Coastal
Flood Advisory, which is in effect until 4 PM EDT this afternoon.
* LOCATIONS...Coastal locations along the New Jersey shoreline.
* TIMING...High tide on the ocean front has just passed, but high
tide on the back bays and along Raritan Bay will occur later
this afternoon.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Up to one foot of saltwater inundation
above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near
shorelines and tidal waterways. Minor roadway flooding is
possible in Atlantic City, Absecon, Ventnor, and Southeastern
Burlington County. Minor roadway flooding is possible for
coastal locations in Monmouth County. In Cape May County, minor
roadway flooding is possible in Wildwood, Cape May, Avalon, and
other locations along the shore and the Delaware Bay shoreline.
* WAVES...6 to 10 feet on the oceanfront.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is
expected. Minor Tidal flooding often results in some road
closures. Usually...the most vulnerable roadways will flood.
Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal
flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The

.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure continues to build in from the west behind a
departing cold front and the departing Post-Tropical Cyclone
Michael. A weak trough will affect the area tonight into
Saturday morning, then high pressure builds into the area
Saturday night into Sunday. This high will move offshore Sunday
night, before a cold front moves across the area Monday. Another
cold front may move across the area on Wednesday, followed by
high pressure for the end of next week.
&&
.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Max wind gusts have fallen below Wind Advisory criteria, so will
go ahead and cancel the Wind Advisory set to expire at 11 am.
However, with northwest winds still gusting as high as 40 mph,
the combination of these strong winds and the saturated ground
from the heavy rain of last night may still result in isolated
tree and power line damage with isolated power outages. Will
issue a Special Weather Statement to cover this potential into
midday.
Otherwise, much cooler and dyer air continues to filter into
the region, as dewpoints are now in the 30s and 40s throughout!
