Advisory, which is in effect until 2 AM EDT Tuesday. 

* EVENT...Southeast winds 15 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph 
  in higher elevations and in the foothills. 

* TIMING...Through tonight.

* IMPACTS...Weak trees and large tree limbs may be blown down. 
  Loose outdoor objects should be secured. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 26 to 39 mph and/or gusts of
40 to 57 mph are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can
make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles.

.DISCUSSION...
Rain is beginning to spread into the area from the southwest, on
track with the forecast, but an update will be issued mainly to
make some changes to the wind products. A Wind Advisory will be
issued for the southern Valley and Plateau areas, and SW NC. With
the NAM showing 925 mb winds near 50 kts tonight, and only a weak
near-surface inversion in the soundings, the winds aloft should be
able to mix down to the surface, particularly on the ridgetops.

Since this appears to be a favorable setup for mountain waves, the
High Wind Warning may need to be expended westward to include a
greater portion of the foothills as well as parts of SW VA. Will
evaluate the 12Z models before making a final decision on this.
