...Flood Watch is in effect through Today for east Tennessee,
southwest Virginia, and southwest North Carolina...

...Windy Conditions across the Mountains through Early
Afternoon...

A strong, slowly progressing storm system and associated frontal
boundary will continue to produce a very moist southerly flow over
the Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachians today.

The Gulf moisture will contribute to periods of rain,
occasionally heavy with a chance of thunderstorms today. Flooding
has been reported across parts of southwest Virginia, Plateau, and
western sections of the Tennessee Valley. The worst hit areas so
far has been Wise and Lee Counties of Virginia.

The periods of heavy rain, especially this morning, may produce
additional flooding of low-lying areas, street flooding, and
stream and river flooding.

Gusty winds reaching to near 50 mph are also possible across the
mountains through early afternoon.

...Another Round of Moderate to Heavy Rains Possible Wednesday
through Thursday Night...

Another slow moving frontal boundary will move across the
Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachains Wednesday through
Thursday Night. This system may produce another round of moderate
to heavy rain. Since the ground will be saturated, any additional
moderate to heavy rains may produce flooding problems.
