The National Weather Service in The Twin Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Redwood County in southwestern Minnesota...
  Western Brown County in south central Minnesota...
  Central Renville County in central Minnesota...

* Until 445 PM CDT Tuesday.

* At 1039 AM CDT, flash flooding continues across Redwood & Renville 
  counties. Water flowing downstream may result in additional flash 
  flooding in western Brown county into this afternoon. Minnesota 
  HSEM reported flooding of businesses & residences and multiple 
  roads closed in Wabasso. Numerous roads and highways are also 
  closed across Redwood County, including Minnesota 19 and US 14. 
  Radar indicates isolated areas of 6-8" of rain have fallen over 
  the warned area with 7.1 inches of rain measured at an USGS gauge 
  near Redwood Falls.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Redwood Falls, Springfield, Morgan, Walnut Grove, Lamberton,
  Wabasso, Franklin, Morton, Sanborn, Vesta, Lucan and Clements.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM CDT FOR
REDWOOD...WESTERN BROWN AND SOUTH CENTRAL RENVILLE COUNTIES...

At 217 PM CDT, flash flooding continues across Redwood & Renville 
counties. Thunderstorms this afternoon have dumped an additional 1-3 
inches of rain over south central Renville and northeastern Redwood 
counties. Radar estimates isolated areas of 8-10 inches of storm-
total rainfall from thunderstorms this morning & afternoon. Water 
flowing downstream from these areas may result in additional flash 
flooding in western Brown county later this afternoon. Minnesota 
HSEM has reported numerous roads and highways closed across Redwood 
County, including Minnesota 19 and US 14.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Redwood Falls, Springfield, Morgan, Walnut Grove, Lamberton, Wabasso,
Franklin, Morton, Sanborn, Lucan, Clements and Revere.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
