A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners...especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.

.UPDATE...

Winds continue to diminish as high pressure pushes into southern
WI and mixing ceases. Winds will shift to the southwest overnight.
Skies are clearing out early this evening, although there is an
area of low clouds over northeast WI that may clip Fond du
Lac/Sheboygan areas later this evening. One more area of mid level
clouds over southern Manitoba should cross southern WI late
tonight.

.AVIATION(00Z TAFS)...

VFR conditions are expected through the period. Skies are
clearing out early this evening, although there is an area of
stratus with 3500 ft bases over northeast WI that may clip Fond
du Lac/Sheboygan areas later this evening. Another area of mid
level clouds over southern Manitoba should cross southern WI late
tonight. After a clear Sunday morning, expect mid level clouds to
track across central and part of southern WI during the afternoon.

Winds continue to diminish as high pressure pushes into southern
WI and mixing ceases. Winds will shift to the southwest overnight
and become a little gusty by Sunday afternoon, but nothing like
today.

DISCUSSION...

Tonight and Sunday...Forecast confidence is high.

High pressure along the Dakota/MN border will slide southeast to
the MO/IL border by early Sunday morning. The pressure gradient
across the area will quickly relax this evening, allowing the
winds to diminish rapidly with sunset. Skies will continue to clear
and temps will fall into the 20s overnight in the wake of the
cold front that moved through earlier today. Winds will back to
the southwest on Sunday as the ridge pushes farther south and
another trough of low pressure approaches from the northwest.
Despite sunshine, Sunday will remain well below normal for highs.

Sunday night and Monday...Forecast confidence is high.

Warm air advection ahead of the approaching trough/cold front will
keep temps a bit warmer Sunday night with highs on Monday
climbing into the mid 50s. The cold front will sweep through in
the morning, but the cold air advection will be weak and tempered
by ample sunshine.

Tuesday through Friday...Forecast confidence is high.

High pressure will then settle across the Upper Midwest for much
of the remainder of next week. Temps will continue to run below
normal with highs all week generally in the 40s. Lows in the 30s.
Look for dry conditions.

Saturday...Forecast confidence is medium.

Our next, more significant low pressure system is expected to push
into the region next weekend. Temps look warm enough to keep it
all rain at this time.

AVIATION(21Z TAFS)...

Look for the strong northwest winds to diminish rapidly this
evening. Skies will clear as well. Look for VFR conditions through
the TAF period. Winds will back to the southwest after 12z
Sunday.

MARINE...

High pressure will slide from the eastern Dakotas to the MO/IL
border overnight. As a result, the pressure gradient across Lake
Michigan will relax, allowing the winds to diminish steadily
tonight. The Gale warning will continue into mid to late evening.
We'll need a small craft advisory for a bit longer in the
nearshore areas. An approaching trough of now pressure from the
northwest will bring increasing southwest winds again later
Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening. Another small craft advisory
may be needed for that time period. Monday through Friday look
rather quiet across the Lake Michigan waters.

the south half.

There is a chance for waterspouts through the afternoon as very
