Travel conditions are likely to deteriorate this evening, and hazardous travel conditions will persist into the morning hours on Tuesday. A Flood Watch is in effect for areas mainly south and east of Madison. Heavy rain is expected across these areas. The rain, combined with the melting snowpack and frozen ground, will cause some rivers and streams to rise. Localized flooding of roads and creeks is also possible. There is a chance of thunderstorms across southern and eastern portions of the area tonight.
