* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and
continue to rise to near 5.7 feet by early Monday morning.
* Impact...At 5.5 feet...There is widespread lowland flooding in
rural areas around Watertown. About 6 miles upstream near Ixonia, a
wayside park along Highway 16 is flooded and closed as is Kanow
Park and Rock River Road near Highway 16.

* At 2:00 PM Wednesday the stage was 6.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Impact...At 6.8 feet...Floodwaters are over the banks in Frame Park
and floodwaters are about 2 feet deep on land near the shoreline.
About one half mile south of downtown Waukesha, water is 2-3 feet
deep and covering much of the back yards of 6 or 7 homes in the
Bethesda Court area of waukesha. This level is the 20 percent
chance flood meaning that there is a 20 percent chance in any given
year of the river reaching this level.

tomorrow evening. The river will fall below flood stage early
Monday morning.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet...Floodwaters touch the base of the river
gauge house in Rock Springs. Floodwaters cover much of Highways DD,
154 and 136 in Rock Springs. Busser Park along Highway 136 and the
baseball diamond in Fireman's Park along Highway DD are covered
with water up to 4 feet deep. Floodwaters affect some businesses,
including the Post Office, along Highway 154 in Rock Springs.

agricultural land flooding in the Baraboo area. Floodwaters spread
into the lower portions of Haskins Park in West Baraboo in the area
of the gauge.

* Impact...At 6.5 feet...There is widespread flooding of lowland and
agricultural land. Downstream in the Avon Bottoms area of Rock
County, there is flooding in Sugar River Park. Some roads are
flooded in Avon Township, about 6 miles downstream of Brodhead.

County, there is flooding in Sugar River Park. Some roads are

gauge house in Rock Springs. Floodwaters cover much of Highways DD,
154 and 136 in Rock Springs. Busser Park along Highway 136 and the
baseball diamond in Fireman's Park along Highway DD are covered
with water up to 4 feet deep. Floodwaters affect some businesses,
including the Post Office, along Highway 154 in Rock Springs.

bridge. Water is 1 foot deep in the Public Works Building. South
Park next to the wastewater plant is underwater. Floodwaters are

.SHORT TERM...
Tonight and Thursday...Forecast Confidence is High.
Mostly light to moderate rain is expected for the remainder of the
afternoon and continuing over southeast WI through the evening
hours. The post frontal rain will likely continue as weak PVA and
the RRQD of an upper jet gives upper support to the lower level
frontogenesis. The rain may however stop by early evening north
and west of Madison. Stratus clouds to then prevail much of the
night with some clearing from north to south well after midnight.
Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies for Thu with nely winds and
pleasant temps and humidity.
.LONG TERM...
Thursday Night through Wednesday...Forecast Confidence is High
Wisconsinites will hear this forecast and throw their hands up in
the air and cheer as we appear to have a dry forecast for at least
the next 7 days. Broad ridging will be in place across the Great
Lakes which will help to keep the remnants of Gordon to the
southeast of the region. The 05.12z ECMWF came in line with the
rest of the guidance with keeping the track of Gordon to the
southeast, so have pulled any chances of precipitation that were
trying to get in there thanks to the 00z run of the ECMWF.
Otherwise, conditions look seasonal with a much needed break from
the precipitation.
