is flooding, cutting off evacuations from the Wardlews Pocket Area.
In Arkansas, docks useed by the steele plant at Hickman are mostly
flooded. Numerous roads and fields inside the levee between Gayoso
and Kennedy, Missouri are covered.

* At 10 AM Sunday the stage was 29.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 34.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to near 29.0 feet Sunday April 15.
* At 29.0 feet...In Arkansas. the evacuation route from camps south
of Hopefield Chute is cut off. Water is lapping the levee near
Sulcer Road west of South Lake. River is touching the levee at Blue
Lake.

* until Saturday April 21.
* At 10 AM Sunday the stage was 40.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 41.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to near 40.7 feet Sunday April 15.
* At 41.0 feet...Tunica Cutoff Lake is flooding camp lots and
Riverside Drive in Lakeview Camp. In Arkansas, road to farmstead
inside the levee near the southeast corner of Lee County is
flooded. Water is against the toe of the Arkansas levee in extreme
Sothern Crittenden County in places and most all the way around
Midway Lake.

.UPDATE...
A cold front currently stretches from just north of the Ohio River
southwestward into North Central Arkansas. Light to moderate rain
continues to affect areas east of the Mississippi River, but the
rain is progressing eastward. Will allow the Flood Watch to expire
at 18Z (1 PM CDT) as rivers have not risen as much as previously
expected and rainfall rates remain below concern for flash
flooding.
A secondary round of light to moderate rain will move into
Northeast Arkansas, the Missouri Bootheel and portions of
Northwest Tennessee this afternoon ahead of the cold front. Clouds
and rain will keep temperatures from warming too much more than
they are at now. Will update to lower highs a tad.

Southeast winds have increased this past hour in the Delta which
has improved visibilities significantly. Therefore the dense fog
advisory has been cancelled.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 348 AM CDT Thu Mar 29 2018/
Rain was still occurring generally east of the Mississippi River
this hour...with a few embedded pockets of moderate intensity
across North Mississippi. Upstream more precipitation was moving
northeast out of northern Louisiana and central Mississippi. To
the west of the river patchy fog has formed with light east winds.
Temperatures were in the upper 50s to low 60s.
For today and tomorrow...rain will continue across the
area...with overall light to occasional moderate intensity. The
the greatest threat for flooding remains across the eastern
counties this morning...where a flood watch continues. Models
show up to an additional half to 1 inch. Most locations have
received storm totals of 1.5 to 3 inches and a few rivers are
still rising in North Mississippi. Farther west a dry slot will
work it's way into the region this morning...with CAMs indicating
a band of low-topped showers and storms redeveloping this
afternoon in a slightly unstable environment. This convection
appears to be along a surface reflection of the passing upper
trough. Cloud cover and dewpoints in the mid and upper 50s will
hold back CAPE amounts to under 300 j/kg...with lapse rates of
only 6C. However some shear will be present...so a strong storm
can't be fully ruled out. This broken line will slide to the
Tennessee River by the mid-evening hours. Clouds will continue to
linger tonight and into tomorrow morning as slightly colder air
slowly seeps south. More sun is expected Friday afternoon.
Temperatures today will range from the mid 60s to near 70F...with
lows falling into the 40s. Friday's highs upper 50's and 60s.
Saturday through Wednesday...models are in good agreement for the
Easter weekend...starting off cool and dry Saturday...but warming
up nicely ahead of the next cold front. Precipitation with this
boundary should remain across the far north later in the day
spreading into the southern counties by sunrise Sunday.
Clouds...periods of rain...and a cooler modified cP airmass will
keep Easter highs struggling to hit 50F in the north.
Fortunately models all signal a quick turn around with WAA
starting Sunday night as the front stalls. Overrunning also
strengthens...with rain chances continuing both Monday and
Tuesday. Elevated convection appears favorable Monday...but
surface convection will likely hold off until late Tuesday as the
next cold front approaches. The supporting upper trough for now
shows signs of low amplification...so any severe threat is still
questionable. Post-frontal showers will linger in the southern
counties on Wednesday...with temperatures cooling about 8 degrees.

Light Rain showers will continue across the Midsouth. Vis should
remain IFR cigs at JBR and TUP should improve by mid morning. MVFR
cigs should prevail at all sites today and tonight. Winds will be
variable at MKL and MEM as a dissipating frontal boundary remains
along the Interstate 40 corridor. Prevailing wind at TUP should
remain southerly with North winds prevailing at JBR. Showers
should taper off overnight though MVFR or IFR cigs will persist.
