the Sabine River Near Orange.
* from Tuesday morning until further notice...or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 2:15 AM Friday the stage was 2.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast...rise above flood stage by Tuesday morning and continue
to rise to near 4.4 feet by early Wednesday morning. additional
rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact...At stages near 5.0 feet...Moderate flooding can be
expected along the river with some roads in Orange likely flooded.
Back water flooding can also be expected along Adams Bayou in
Orange.
* Impact...At stages near 4.0 feet...Flooding of mainly secondary
roads near the river can be expected. Steward Road may become
impassable near the weigh station in Louisiana.
Water surrounds the Louisiana and Texas welcome centers.

* At 10:45 AM Friday the stage was 101.6 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 97.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Tuesday evening.
* Impact...At stages near 102.0 feet...Numerous homes and camps are
flooded, including elevated structures have a few feet of water in
them.
* Impact...At stages near 101.0 feet...Major flooding is occurring
around much of the lake. Several elevated structures will have
water in them, with many more cutoff. Water covers Highway 394, 2
to 3 feet deep in the lowest spots. Highway 113 downstream of
Bundicks Lake will likely be covered with water.
* Impact...At stages near 100.0 feet...Major flooding can be
expected. Numerous homes and camps are flooded around the lake.
Water covers Highway 394 on the west end of the lake. Highway 113
downstream of Bundicks Lake is subject to flooding.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 18.5 feet by
tomorrow morning then begin falling.
* Impact...At stages near 19.0 feet...When the river is rising and
forecast to reach 19 feet at Glenmora, flooding of several
structures near Beechwood Church is possible.
* Impact...At stages near 18.0 feet...Numerous roads near the river
are closed, including Highway 112 which is flooded for about 1.5
miles between Highway 121 and Beechwood Church. Major flood damage
downstream will occur downstream of the gauge.
* Impact...At stages near 16.0 feet...When the river is rising and
forecast to reach 16 feet, portions of Highway 112 between Highway
121 and Beechwood Church is subject to flooding.

* Impact...At stages near 16.0 feet...Lowland areas near lower level
of sewage plant and approximately 30 homes begin to flood.
* Impact...At stages near 14.0 feet...Low secondary roads near the
river begin to flood. Several houses in close proximity to the
river are subject to flooding.

forested areas along the river will occur. Park and picnic ground

nearest the river.

Ferry Road have water on it. Water is over some boat docks on South
Perkins Ferry Road and over boat ramps at Sam Houston Jones State
Park. Extensive marshland flooding will occur upstream and

* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 27.9 feet by
early Tuesday morning then begin falling.
* Impact...At stages near 27.9 feet...This flooding will be similar
to the flooding expierenced in the flood of March 2001. Homes in
Deweyville have water in them.
* Impact...At stages near 27.0 feet...Widespread moderate lowland
flooding will occur. Homes in Deweyville closest to the river are
flooded. Flooding of homes in the Indian Lakes and River Oaks
sections will also occur. Low-lying roads and a few homes in
Southwest Beauregard Parish have some flooding.
* Impact...At stages near 26.8 feet...Deweyville schools may be
closed due to school bus routes being flooded.
* Impact...At stages near 26.0 feet...Moderate lowland flooding will
occur. The lowest homes between Deweyville and the river begin to
flood, especially in the Indian Lakes and River Oaks sections.
Low-lying roads and a few homes in Southwestern Beauregard Parish
have some flooding.

* At 10:00 AM Friday the stage was 7.1 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 7.4 feet by this
afternoon. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact...At stages near 7.0 feet...Buildings at the foot of Ann
Street on the river side of the flood wall will flood as water
overtops the Rio Oil Company dock. Buildings on the river side of
the Berwick floodwall will flood. River traffic restrictions will
be strictly enforced. In addition, backwater flooding could
potentially impact portions areas around Lake Palourde and
Stephensville.
* Impact...At stages near 6.0 feet...Flood stage. The city dock will
be under water. Water will cover the lower end of Belleview Front
Street in Berwick. Vessel traffic will be affected by stronger
river current and vessel traffic safety rules will be strictly
enforced by the U.S. Coast Guard.

the Berwick floodwall will flood. River traffic restrictions will
be strictly enforced. In addition, backwater flooding could
potentially impact portions areas around Lake Palourde and
Stephensville.
* Impact...At stages near 6.0 feet...Flood stage. The city dock will
be under water. Water will cover the lower end of Belleview Front
Street in Berwick. Vessel traffic will be affected by stronger
river current and vessel traffic safety rules will be strictly
enforced by the U.S. Coast Guard.

to protect against higher stages. Vessel traffic will be affected

sections will also occur. Low-lying roads and a few homes in

* Impact...At stages near 26.8 feet...Deweyville schools may be
closed due to school bus routes being flooded.

occur. The lowest homes between Deweyville and the river begin to

Low-lying roads and a few homes in Southwestern Beauregard Parish
have some flooding.

overtops the Rio Oil Company dock. Buildings on the river side of
the Berwick floodwall will flood. River traffic restrictions will
be strictly enforced. In addition, backwater flooding could
potentially impact portions areas around Lake Palourde and
Stephensville.
* Impact...At stages near 6.0 feet...Flood stage. The city dock will
be under water. Water will cover the lower end of Belleview Front
Street in Berwick. Vessel traffic will be affected by stronger
river current and vessel traffic safety rules will be strictly

* Impact...At stages near 27.0 feet...Widespread moderate lowland
flooding will occur. Homes in Deweyville closest to the river are
flooded. Flooding of homes in the Indian Lakes and River Oaks
sections will also occur. Low-lying roads and a few homes in
Southwest Beauregard Parish have some flooding.
* Impact...At stages near 26.8 feet...Deweyville schools may be
closed due to school bus routes being flooded.
* Impact...At stages near 26.0 feet...Moderate lowland flooding will
occur. The lowest homes between Deweyville and the river begin to
flood, especially in the Indian Lakes and River Oaks sections.
Low-lying roads and a few homes in Southwestern Beauregard Parish
have some flooding.
* Impact...At stages near 25.0 feet...Lowest roads beside the river
flood around Deweyville and subject to being closed. In addition,
low-lying roads in Southwest Beauregard Parish are flooded
including Robert Clark Road. Flooding occurs on the south side of
Niblett Bluff Park with access roads to camp houses cut off around
the park. Access roads to the river in Northeastern Orange County
become flooded.

Street on the river side of the flood wall will flood as water
overtops the Rio Oil Company dock. Buildings on the river side of
the Berwick floodwall will flood. River traffic restrictions will
be strictly enforced. In addition, backwater flooding could
potentially impact portions areas around Lake Palourde and
Stephensville.
* Impact...At stages near 6.0 feet...Flood stage. The city dock will
be under water. Water will cover the lower end of Belleview Front
Street in Berwick. Vessel traffic will be affected by stronger
river current and vessel traffic safety rules will be strictly
enforced by the U.S. Coast Guard.

this evening. Cold front moving through E TX/NW LA will continue

DISCUSSION...
Had a very active overnight and early morning today, with some
places seeing 5 to 10 inches of rain from southeast Texas into
west central and central Louisiana. Many areas saw street flooding
due to this heavy rain. In addition, we have two survey crews out
right now checking on tornado damage in Calcasieu and Allen
Parishes from this mornings storms.
But now, the rain is making its way out of the region. There are
still some lingering showers in lower Acadiana, that extend into
the coastal waters. In the shower activity, winds have been rather
gusty, so will be keeping the small craft advisory through 7 pm
for the coastal waters east of Intracoastal City.
Sunshine has been working its way into the region this afternoon,
but we do have another reinforcing cold front expected to move
down across the area later tonight. No rain is expected with this
system, but we could see clouds on the increase again after
sunset.
The good news is there is no rain forecast Friday through the
weekend, and temperatures will run near normal to slightly above
normal. The next chance of rain returns by next Tuesday and
Wednesday, as another frontal boundary is expected to move across
the region. Right now, we do not see this system as strong as the
one we saw last night and this morning, but it bears watching as
we are still 6 days away from it.
