  Bay, Hawk Channel adjacent to the Lower and Middle Keys, and
  portions of the Florida Straits out from the Lower and Middle 
  Keys. 

* WAVES/SEAS...As high as 8 feet in the Gulf Stream and Straits of
  Florida, and as high as 5 feet in portions of Hawk Channel.

...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

The National Weather Service in Key West has cancelled the Small
Craft Advisory. 

Small Craft are urged to exercise caution this afternoon due to
sustained north winds of 15 to 20 knots, with seas 4 to 6 feet
over the Straits of Florida and the Gulf waters beyond 5 fathoms
out to 60 nm offshore Chokoloskee, including waters near Dry
Tortugas and Rebecca Shoal Channel.

.DISCUSSION...
.CURRENTLY...
Isolated showers & widespread cloud cover have moved into our
offshore gulf waters. Winds have shifted to the north and picked
up significantly behind this boundary. Yes, dear friends, the cold
front is near. Only cirrus is found along the island chain, ahead
of this boundary, where winds are west to northwest at 5 to 10
mph. Meanwhile, the Pulley Ridge buoy has risen to 9 ft, after
reporting only 1 ft seas near sunrise this morning.

.SHORT TERM (Tonight through Tuesday Night)...
The main focus in the short- term is the incoming cold front,
which is poised to move across most of our coastal waters tonight
and stall somewhere near the island chain tomorrow. With limited
instability and a past behavior of unorganized isolated/scattered
shower activity, rain chances near 40 percent have been
maintained, with no mention of thunder. Aside from rain, the main
impacts will be increasing northerly winds tonight along with
cloud cover. Due to the front stalling for a day or two, expect
dew points to not change much. Cloud cover will keep cooler high
temperatures (low 70s), and warmer lows (mid 60s) through Tuesday
night.

.LONG TERM (Wednesday through Monday Night)...
The cold front will likely remain stalled near the Florida Keys
Wednesday, as cyclogenesis occurs north of the Bahamas along the
frontal boundary. By Wednesday afternoon, a second upper trough
sweeps through the Southeast US, pushing the stalled front away
from Florida, and bringing 'cold', polar air into the Florida
Keys. Wednesday night through Saturday, temperatures will remain
near 10 degrees below normal as cool air and relatively dry
conditions (with some cold-air strato-cu) linger. Late this
weekend and early next week, east to northeasterly winds return,
moderating the pattern back to climatological normals.

.MARINE...
A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the offshore gulf,
Bayside/Gulfside, portions of Hawk Channel adjacent to the Lower
and Middle Keys, and portions of the Florida Straits 5 to 60 nm
out from the Lower and Middle Keys. Small craft should exercise
caution for increasing winds and seas tonight across the Florida
Bay, eastern Hawk Channel, and eastern Florida Straits. A cold
front will approach the Florida Keys tonight, stall near the
Straits on Tuesday, then exit Wednesday. Breezes will freshen
from the northwest to north tonight through Wednesday night, and
continue Thursday and Thursday night as high surface pressure
builds across the southern US.

.AVIATION...
VFR conditions will become MVFR at EYW and MTH this afternoon. MVFR
or lower conditions are likely at EYW and MTH tonight throughout
tomorrow. Winds will steadily increase from southwest to west near
10 knots to north and increase from at or above 10 knots to gusting
near 20 knots tomorrow morning after 12Z.

In 2017, the average temperature at Key West International Airport
was 79.4 degrees. This is tied for the 3rd warmest year ever
observed in Key West since temperature records began in 1872.

Florida Straits and offshore Gulf waters early Thursday.
