  Wabash River...


.Lowland flooding will develop along the Wabash River in western 
Indiana as a result of up to one and one half inches of rain that 
fell across the northern quarter of the state late Sunday into 
Monday.

Significant flooding is not expected. Flooding will affect 
some local and state roads, low agricultural land, and some river 
parks. Flooding will begin Tuesday.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and

and downstream later this week. Flooding is currently expected to be 
as far downstream as Montezuma, but some locations further 
downstream may approach flood stage. Additional warnings will be 
issued as necessary.

.As of late Wednesday evening, flooding affecting agricultural land 
and possibly low lying roads and river parks was ongoing on the 
Wabash River in western Indiana from Lafayette to Montezuma, with 
river levels up to four tenths of a foot above flood stage.  This 
flooding is a result of up to one and a half inches of rain that fell 
across the northern quarter of the state late Sunday into Monday. 
Locations downstream of Montezuma may approach flood stage later this 
week. Additional flooding, possibly more intense, is possible next 
week as a result of expected rain this coming weekend. Additional 
warnings will be issued as necessary.

A frontal system will push off to the northeast today. In the wake
of this system, high pressure will move into the area for the middle
parts of the week. Another low pressure system may affect the area
by the weekend.

&&

.NEAR TERM /Today/...
Issued at 249 AM EST Mon Nov 26 2018

Most of the steadier precipitation has pushed off to the northeast,
along with the better lift. However, scattered shower activity
remains over the area associated with the upper low.

Short term model data suggests wrap around precipitation on the back
side of the upper low currently over Illinois will begin moving into
the western zones towards daybreak. This remnant deformation zone
expected to track east through the local area during the day today,
exiting the eastern zones by late this afternoon. As a result, will
keep PoPs going for rain and snow showers for most of the day,
with PoPs tapering off from the west later this afternoon.
Possible some areas may receive a dusting of snow in heavier
showers.

Under strong cold advection today, should see temperatures fall
during the day, with temperatures around 30 expected by sunset.

Will hold onto wind headlines today, as it still appears wind gusts
around 40 mph are likely, especially through the early afternoon hours.

.SHORT TERM /Tonight through Wednesday Night/...

A secondary mid level vorticity center dropping southeast from the
Dakotas early this morning is expected to move through the area
tonight. Forcing looks quite weak, although there are signals in the
model data that there may be some flurry activity around tonight.
Will add this to the forecast tonight.

Otherwise, the rest of the short term looks dry as deep upper low
over the Great Lakes drifts off to the east, and surface high
pressure builds in.

Progged low level thicknesses suggest the GFS MOS lows tonight look
too cold. Will bump up the guidance lows 2-4 degrees tonight. Rest
of the guidance looks OK for now.

.LONG TERM /Thursday through Sunday/...

Wet and unsettled weather is expected throughout the extended and
especially over the weekend as a strong upper low lifts out of the
southern Plains and across the area.

The deep upper trough over the eastern U S will lift out prior to
Thursday with quasi-zonal flow aloft replacing the trough for late
week. This will enable a moderation in temperatures from the
colder airmass across the region through midweek. Pieces of energy
will be kicked out from the aforementioned upper low as it tracks
across the southwest part of the country bringing chances for
precipitation Thursday afternoon into Friday. Low level thermals
do support potential for snow to occasionally mix in with rain
Thursday night and Friday morning...but overall impacts are
expected to be minimal with surface temperatures largely remaining
above freezing.

The arrival of the upper level system as it kicks out into the
southern Plains then up into the region will provide the best
chance for widespread precipitation Saturday and Saturday night. A
strengthening surface wave will accompany the upper low as it
tracks into the lower Great Lakes by Sunday. Warmer air advecting
into the region ahead of the storm will ensure rain as the precip
type. Model consensus is quite good at this early stage with
respect to the track and timing of the weekend system.

Highs will warm back into the upper 40s and lower 50s over the
weekend after the chilly first half of the week upcoming.

.AVIATION /Discussion for the 26/15Z TAF Update/...

Update...
No changes at KIND. Conditions are at MVFR levels with strong
northwest winds.

Previous Discussions...
Poor flying conditions are expected today with MVFR and occasional
dips into IFR category ceilings. Winds will be gusty for much of
the day.

Strong low pressure over northeast Indiana will continue to lift
away to the northeast today. Wrap around moisture on the back side
of the low will linger over the region for much of the day with
scattered rain showers gradually transitioning to snow showers as
colder air advects in. Could see briefly reduced visibilities with
heavier snow showers as they come across the terminals...but
overall coverage warrants just a general VCSH mention at this
time. Ceilings will hover around 1000ft this morning before
settling between 1000 and 2000ft this afternoon and evening.

The primary impact for aviators will be the winds which will be

This hazardous weather outlook is for central Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Outlook: West to northwest winds will gust to 40 to 45 mph through
the afternoon hours of today. Minor accumulations of snow are
possible today.

Hazards: High winds may result in outdoor decorations and unsecured
objects being blown around. Isolated power outages from damage to
trees and limbs.

Timing: Strongest winds through the early afternoon hours.

Discussion: A strong low pressure system will move into the Great
Lakes today. This will result in strong winds today, along with
scattered rain and snow showers. Minor accumulations of snow are
possible today, especially on grassy and elevated surfaces.

The winds are expected to diminish tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Outlook: Minor accumulations of snow are possible Thursday night into
Friday morning.

Discussion: A weak weather disturbance may bring light mixed
precipitation to the area on Thursday into Friday morning. Minor
accumulations of snow are possible. A stronger low pressure system
will bring the threat of rain by the weekend.
