...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers and
streams in Indiana...

  Big Blue River...Driftwood River...East Fork White River...
  Muscatatuck River...Sugar Creek...White River...


.Unusual September flooding continued along the White and East Fork 
White Rivers in central and southern Indiana Monday afternoon.  High 
water along the East Fork River and its tributaries will be higher 
than the flood of September 2003 while flood crests along the White 
River will be somewhat, to considerably, lower than those seen in 
September 2003.

Early Monday afternoon, the crest of the East Fork White River had 
not reached Columbus.  Upstream, the Big Blue and Driftwood Rivers 
were near crest.  Downstream, the East Fork White River had 
temporarily crested at Seymour, but will rise to slightly higher 
levels by Wednesday.  The river will rise in the Bedford and Shoals 
areas through Friday.

On the White River, the upstream crest was approaching Noblesville 
and will reach the north side of Indianapolis by Tuesday evening.  
Downstream, the crest was approaching Spencer.  The White River from 
Edwardsport to Hazleton will rise through Friday.

No rain is expected in Indiana through Sunday.  This will allow the 
rivers to fall steadily after crest.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

* Forecast...The river will rise to near 13.5 feet by this evening 
  then begin falling. It will fall below flood stage late Tuesday 
  night.
* At 13.2 feet...Lowland flooding in progress along Driftwood River in
  northern Bartholomew County on April 6, 2011. Double Y Saddle Club 
  area flooded.  At least 6 inches of water flowing over CR 950N to 
  Club. Water is less than one foot away from CR 330W just south of 
  its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR 500N west of CR 250W is 
  flooded blocking vehicular access to residences near the river 
  bank. Lowell Public Access site is open but ramp is totally 
  flooded. Water close to one residence at Shelby CR 1000S and CR 
  900W.

  road 725 N (near Rockford) floods.  Indiana 258 east of Cortland 
  may flood.  On December 8 2014...about an inch of water flowed over
  Reddington Street near the East Fork White River Bridge as the 
  river crested.

  afternoon.  It will fall below flood stage by Saturday morning.
* At 22.0 feet...A few local county roads begin to flood and are 
  impassable.  These include Buddha Road south of the gage and 
  Lawrenceport Road.  All local roads across the East Fork of the 
  White River are threatened by high water, and some are closed.  
  Flooding of agricultural lands in Lawrence County is in progress.

  residential unit would flood if water rose another 1 to 2 feet.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers and
streams in central and southern Indiana...

  Driftwood River...East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...Sugar 
  Creek...White River...


.Uncommon September flooding continued along the White and East Fork 
White Rivers in central and southern Indiana.  High water along the 
East Fork River in southern Indiana will be higher than the flood of 
September 2003.  Flood crests along the White River in southern 
Indiana will be considerably lower than those seen in September 2003.

Early Tuesday afternoon, the crest on the East Fork White River 
was near Columbus.  Upstream the Big Blue River fell below flood 
stage at Shelbyviile early Tuesday morning and the Driftwood River 
near Edinburgh was at crest.  Downstream the East Fork White River 
was slowly rising at Seymour.  The river will begin to rise in the 
Bedford area by Wednesday and in the Shoals area by Thursday.  The 
river will rise in the Bedford and Shoals areas through Friday.

Early Tuesday afternoon, the White River was near crest from 
Noblesville through the Ravenswood area.  The river will begin to 
fall by Wednesday afternoon.  Flooding will end by Friday. 

In southern Indiana, the White River was approaching crest from 
Spencer to Newberry on Tuesday afternoon.  The White River will 
crest at Edwardsport by Thursday and continue to slowly rise in the 
Petersburg and Hazleton areas through Saturday.  Flooding ended 
upstream in Morgan County late Monday.

No rain is expected in Indiana through Sunday.  This will allow the 
rivers to fall steadily after crest.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

  feet this road is impassable.  During typical floods in this 
  area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than 10
  feet of water.  During the January 2005 flood...this area would 
  have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17 
  feet.  In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water 
  would have covered this location.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers 
in Indiana...

  Driftwood River...East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...Sugar 
  Creek...White River...


.Uncommon September flooding continued along the White and East Fork 
White Rivers in central and southern Indiana.  High water along the 
East Fork River in southern Indiana will be higher than the flood of 
September 2003.  Flood crests along the White River in southern 
Indiana will be considerably lower than those seen in September 2003.

Late Tuesday evening, the crest on the East Fork White River 
was near Columbus.  Upstream, the Big Blue River fell below flood 
stage at Shelbyville early Tuesday morning and the Driftwood River 
near Edinburgh crested around noontime.  Downstream the East Fork 
White River was slowly rising at Seymour.  The river is rising in 
the Bedford area and will crest by Friday morning, and the river 
will begin to rise Wednesday in the Shoals area and crest 
Saturday.

Late Tuesday evening, the White River was near crest from 
Nora through the Ravenswood area and will begin to fall Wednesday 
morning.  Flooding will end by Friday.

In southern Indiana, the White River was at or past crest from 
Spencer to Newberry late Tuesday evening.  The White River will 
crest at Edwardsport by Thursday morning and continue to slowly rise 
in the Petersburg and Hazleton areas through Saturday.  Flooding 
ended upstream in Morgan County late Monday.

No rain is expected in Indiana through Sunday.  This will allow the 
rivers to fall steadily after crest.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

  its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR 500N west of CR 250W is 
  flooded blocking vehicular access to residences near the river 
  bank. Lowell Public Access site is open but ramp is totally 
  flooded. Water close to one residence at Shelby CR 1000S and CR 
  900W.

  the south side of river begins to flood around this level.  By 22 
  feet this road is impassable.  During typical floods in this 
  area...this portion of the road can be flooded by 5 to more than 10
  feet of water.  During the January 2005 flood...this area would 
  have been near the "bottom" of the river...underwater by nearly 17 
  feet.  In the great March 1913 flood...more than 25 feet of water 
  would have covered this location.

High pressure extends from the Upper Great Lakes southwest into
the Missouri Valley this afternoon. The low pressure that was the
remnants of Gordon is over western/central Lake Erie looking at
GOES-East visible imagery, and that is keeping cloud cover over
much of central Indiana this afternoon. High pressure will slowly
push eastward this evening into tonight gradually clearing skies
with light winds.

As skies gradually clear tonight, the combination of residual
moisture from the weekend rainfall and light winds is expected to
result in widespread fog across much of the area. The lowest
visibilities should be in rural areas, while marginal visibilities
will be around/within urban areas. Main impact will be to
overnight/morning drive times due to locally dense fog.

High pressure will span from the southern Plains northeastward
through the Ohio Valley into the Lower Great Lakes. This will
central Indiana dry with mild temperatures on both days. Still
think there will be the possibility for patchy dense fog,
especially in rural areas, Tuesday night into early Wednesday
morning, but that should be the only impact during that period.
Temperatures will be in the mid 70s on both days with lows in the
mid-upper 50s Tuesday night.

Quiet weather is expected throughout the extended as the Ohio
Valley remains underneath a broad ridge aloft to the west of
Hurricane Florence as it approaches and moves into the Carolinas.

Still some track fluctuation with model guidance on Florence but
appears models are beginning to hone in on a track into or near
the North Carolina coast. Should the more inland and further west
portion of the track envelope come to fruition...conceivable that
the far edge of the high clouds associated with the storm could
approach eastern portions of the forecast area late weekend. But
overall regardless of storm track...expecting no impact from
Florence here in central Indiana.

Dry...warm and increasingly humid air will return through much of
the extended. Any threat for convection looks very
isolated...diurnally driven and does not warrant inclusion in the
forecast at this time. Highs will return into the mid and
possibly upper 80s through much of the extended.

Updated ceilings to VFR as the MVFR ceilings have moved off to the
east. Made some tweaks to winds but no significant changes.

Previous discussion follows...

Slowly improving to VFR conditions by late afternoon. Patchy fog
may cause restrictions early Tuesday.

Stratus deck is beginning to mix out from the west as drier air is
finally infiltrating the boundary layer and weakening the
inversion. Expect this to continue into the afternoon but with
cooler air aloft...will see some redevelopment of cu in areas
mainly clear at the moment. Ceilings should gradually rise during
the afternoon from their current levels between 1000-2500ft to
3500-4000ft. North-northwest winds near 10kts will continue
through the afternoon.

Skies will clear this evening into the overnight as high pressure
builds into the Ohio Valley. With light winds and plentiful ground
moisture from weekend rains...expect outlying terminals will have
a chance to see fog restrictions from the predawn hours through
daybreak Tuesday. Have started out at a basic 2-3SM in tempos but
would not be shocked to see more extensive but brief restrictions
develop. Will let later shifts monitor and adjust. Fog will burn
off Tuesday morning with mainly sunny skies and light and
variable winds going forward.

Discussion: High pressure will provide dry weather this week. Minor
