...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in 
western and southern Indiana...

  East Fork White River...Muscatatuck River...Wabash River...



.Lowland flooding continued along portions of the Wabash, East 
Fork White and Muscatatuck Rivers in western and southern Indiana 
late Thursday morning.

Locally heavy rains of more than 2 inches fell in southern 
Bartholomew County on Wednesday afternoon.  Lowland flooding quickly 
followed in portions of Jackson and Washington counties. Flooding 
will end in this area by Monday.

High water from the Embarras River in southeast Illinois continued to 
cause the Wabash River to slowly rise in the Mount Carmel and New 
Harmony areas.  The Wabash River will crest about a foot above flood 
stage in these areas by Monday.  Upstream the river was near crest 
at Vincennes.  The Wabash will fall below flood stage from Terre 
Haute to Vincennes by Tuesday.

River flooding continued to affect some local roads...river parks 
and low agricultural land. 

Little rain is expected through Monday.  This will allow rivers to 
recede somewhat.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

* At 14.0 feet...Pasture lands...agricultural lands and several County
  and State Roads begin to flood.  High water isolates a few river 
  cabins.  State Road 235 east of Medora and county roads near 
  Shields and Vallonia flood.  Roads that begin to flood include 258 
  east of Cortland...County Road 725 N just north of the gaging site 
  and Ewing Road near Brownstown.

* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by 
  this afternoon.
* At 16.5 feet...Flood waters begin to enter the two breaks in the 
  Honey Creek Levee maintained by the Honey Creek Levee Association.
  These two breaks occurred during the April 2013 flood.

  production ceases with the exception of pumping units on 
  substructures.  Access to these are by boat only.  Agricultural

  The Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.
* until Sunday afternoon.
* There have been no observations in the last 24 hours.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to crest at 19.0 feet this 
  afternoon and will fall below flood stage by late Saturday night.
* At 20.0 feet...Leaverton Park in Palestine and park in Hutsonville 
  begin to flood.  Agricultural flooding spreads to higher land.  
  Seep water is noticeable behind levees.  Some elevated river 
  cottages are surrounded by water.  Several county or township roads
  east of Lincoln Heritage Trail between Palestine and Hutsonville in
  Crawford County Illinois are impassable.

* At Fri 10:00 AM the stage was 16.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by 
  Saturday evening.
* At 16.0 feet...Some agricultural lands underwater.  A few rural 
  roads in Crawford County, Illinois close as water backs up Minnow 
  Slough.  High water affects campground at Leaverton Park in 
  Palestine.  A few private roads near the Gill Township levee in 
  Sullivan County may flood.  Water level is at the top of most 
  makeshift levees.

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following river in 
Indiana...

  Wabash River...


.Lowland flooding continued along portions of the Wabash Rivers in 
western late Friday evening.

High water from the Embarras River in southeast Illinois continued 
to cause the Wabash River to slowly rise in the New Harmony area.  
The Wabash River has crested or nearly crested along the length of 
the river in central Indiana.  Flooding will end by late this 
weekend in Vincennes.

River flooding continued to affect some local roads...river parks 
and low agricultural land. 

Little rain is expected through Monday.  This will allow rivers to 
recede somewhat.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

* At 18.0 feet...Seep water occurs behind levees on Indiana side.  
  Hutson Creek begins to overflow from backwater.  Old Darwin Road 
  and a few rural roads in eastern Clark and Crawford counties in 
  Illinois are impassable.  Low agricultural land floods.

.SYNOPSIS...
Issued at 320 AM EDT Thu Jun 14 2018

In the wake of a departing front, surface high pressure will move
into the area today. As the surface ridge moves eastward, the
heart of the upper level ridge will begin to push into the area
for the weekend. This will keep the area dry but bring hotter
temperatures into the area. Thunderstorm chances will return to
the area early next week as the ridge weakens and moves southward,
allowing a frontal system to influence the area.

.NEAR TERM /Today/...

As convective temperatures appear unreachable and much drier air
works into the area, expect mostly sunny skies and pleasant summer
weather today.

Consensus temperatures appeared a bit cool given upstream numbers.
Most areas should have no trouble reaching the mid 80s today.

.SHORT TERM /Tonight through Saturday Night/...

The upper level ridge will build over the area during the short
term, deflecting the bulk of organized 'ring of fire' convection
north of the area, and resulting in a hotter forecast through the
weekend. Peak heat indices over 100 degrees will be possible at
least on Sunday, and these numbers may be approached on Saturday
and Monday across portions of the area.

Will keep the forecast dry despite some hint of convection in the
model blends. Cannot entirely rule out an isolated pop up near
peak heating as dewpoints begin to increase again over the
weekend, but subsidence under the ridge will be battling against
this and forecast soundings appear largely capped during the short
term.

.LONG TERM /Sunday through Wednesday/...

Warm...hot and humid pattern looks to continue into early next
week. The ECMWF continues to suggest strong High pressure and
ridging aloft over Indiana next week. Again...this will keep any
forcing dynamic well north of Indiana.

The ECMWF suggest a weak tropical Wave arriving from the
southwest on Tuesday into Wednesday. Have kept some low chance
pops to account for for this feature but confidence is low. Still
ample heat and moisture should be in place through the middle of
next week.

Overall...look for hot and humid conditions during this period.

VFR Conidtions are expected this Taf period.

High pressure is expected to build across the area today. Forecast
soundings show a dry column with unreachable convective
temperatures. Thus we will only expect a few passing high clouds
as seen on GOES16. Furthermore as the surface high builds across
the area...winds will remain variable and light.
