Old frontal boundary cloud mass over northern half of central IL with lingering pcpn north of boundary that has now become weak. Scattered convection south of boundary. The boundary will continue to refire showers north of it tonight. However on Friday, more significant pcpn to develop in east-west area over central IL due to increased influx of moisture from the flow around Gordon that is progged to be in northern AR and southern MO. && .LONG TERM...(Friday night through Thursday) ISSUED AT 253 PM CDT Thu Sep 6 2018 With the lingering elevated pcpn from the flow from Gordon continuing, as Gordon remains moves over southern IL and up the OH River, flow north of that system will continue to trigger convection over central IL. As the system gets closer Sat and Sat night, convection closer to Gordon will be the main threast, with the most substantial pcpn over southern IL due to the tropical system moving close. Major rainfall is the result over much of region with the area south of a Taylorville to Tuscola line getting the highest amounts.
