This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, piedmont
North Carolina, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue into
the evening. A few thunderstorms could become strong enough to
produce damaging wind gusts and small hail, especially over the
Piedmont. In addition, brief heavy rainfall will accompany all
thunderstorms. Some areas may receive a prolonged period of heavy
rainfall due to slower-moving or training thunderstorms which could
result in isolated flooding of low-lying or poor-drainage areas and
small streams.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

On Sunday, scattered to numerous thunderstorms will develop once
again across the area and produce high rainfall rates that could lead
to isolated urban, low-lying, and small-stream flooding. The flooding
threat will be highest in and near the mountains.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters are requested to forward any reports of large hail,
damaging winds, tornadoes, or flash flooding to our office.

At 606 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a
line extending from 5 miles northwest of Hartwell to 9 miles east of
Danielsville, and moving east at 25 mph.

Locations to be impacted include...
Elberton, Hartwell, Anderson, Homeland Park, Reed Creek, Iva, Bowman,
Starr, Lowndesville and Anderson Airport.

Wind gusts up to 45 mph, pea size hail and very heavy rainfall rates
up to 2 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Gusty winds can blow down trees that are dead, or that have weakened
root systems. Outdoor furniture and similar items can be tossed
around if not anchored. Seek shelter indoors.

Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters.
