PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property.

woodlands...pastures and natural flood plain along the river

Patches of light rain and drizzle linger over parts of north GA so have adjusted pops to extend coverage area and time. Temperatures look on track. 41 .Previous... .SHORT TERM /Tonight through Sunday Night/... The center of the upper low continues to push northeastward into eastern Tennessee this afternoon. With this upper low in close proximity, widespread clouds as well as isolated to widely scattered light showers can be expected into the evening, primarily in north Georgia. As the low exits northeastward through the night, these light showers will diminish by early Sunday morning, though widespread low clouds will persist. Sunday will finally bring dry conditions after our latest wet and dreary few days. Clouds will be relatively slow to diminish through the day, though more breaks in the clouds should become noticeable by Sunday afternoon/evening. Temperatures on Sunday will warm well into the 50s across north Georgia with 60s in central Georgia. RW && .LONG TERM /Monday through Saturday/... Made some slight adjustments to increase some pops for the more likely Thurs/Fri system as the GFS has come into much better agreement with the Euro on bringing an amplifying upper cutoff low and more abundant moisture. Also need to keep close watch on how much lingering wraparound moisture is present as thermal profiles cool in the far north late Friday for any possible light snow shower transition. Baker PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 352 AM EST Sat Dec 15 2018/ LONG TERM /Sunday Night through Friday/... Long term begins dry, however that will change by mid week as the next system brings another round of rain to the CWA. GFS/ECMWF are coming into better agreement on timing and strength of the mid week system. An upper trough will move off the Pacific coast and into the Mississippi Valley by Wednesday where it will deepen into a closed low. Gulf moisture will spread across the CWA Wednesday night and into Thursday. With better agreement and consistency in timing, there is better confidence and therefore have increased pops to high chance and likely for Thursday. There is some weak instability Thursday but not enough at this time to add thunder. As the system exits Friday/Friday night, the last area to see precip will be the extreme north. With temperatures dropping into the 30s across the mountains Friday night, will need to add a chance of a rain/snow mix. 17 && .AVIATION... 00Z Update...
