* At 9 PM Friday the stage was 12.4 feet and falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring is forecast to continue.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by tomorrow 
  afternoon.
* At 12 feet...Flood Stage was reached. Minor flooding of lowlands 
  adjacent to the river begans. The water level reached the top of 
  the Abbeville boat ramp and also began to flood the nearby park.

* At 8 AM Saturday the stage was 12.2 feet...and falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by late this 
  afternoon.
* At 12 feet...Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding of lowlands 
  adjacent to the river begins. The water level reaches the top of

SHORT TERM /Today through Tuesday/...
Current satellite loop shows increased high clouds streaming across
the area but the biggest concern is the low stratus moving over the
area with the low level easterly flow. With the high clouds moving
over the region its a little difficult to see just how far west the
lower clouds have moved in. They still appear to be east of the ATL
area but they have made it into the Macon and Athens areas. If they
continue pushing westward they should make the ATL airport just
before daybreak. Once the sun comes up these low clouds should
dissipate. We will continue to see increased mid to upper level
clouds moving into the state from the NW as the next frontal system
moves into the state tonight. This front will bring showers to the
area tonight as its sweeps SE through the region. This front will
move into NW GA this evening and push completely off the GA coast by
Tuesday evening. We are not expecting much precip with this frontal
system as most areas will see a tenth of an inch or less of precip.
Once this front moves through...a large high pressure ridge build
into the southeastern U.S. from the Central plains and dries things
out going into the extended forecast.

Temperatures today will be mainly in the 60s across the state but
will see cooler temps Tuesday with highs mainly in the 50s across
north and central GA. Lows tonight expected to be in the 40s to
lower 50s.

LONG TERM /Tuesday Night through Sunday/...
Extended models are in good agreement with surface high pressure
and near zonal upper level flow through Thursday. Thanksgiving
remains dry with temperatures in the mid 50s to lower 60s. Models
begin to diverge on Friday with the evolution of a developing
wave/upper low over the southern plains and the associated cold
front which will track across the Gulf coast states through
Saturday. ECMWF is more progressive than GFS which brings a
secondary surface low just north of forecast area on Sunday. Have
kept chance showers as the front moves through the area, with
little instability noted. Temperatures will remain below normal
through the period.

.AVIATION...
12Z Update...
There is some low stratus just east of ATL but it appears to not be
making much westerly movement. Ceilings ranging from 200 to 1500ft
under this low stratus deck. For now my thinking is these low clouds
will not make it into ATL and with the sun coming up...that
should help to dissipate this low deck. Everything else is steady
as she goes with increasing mid to upper level clouds today ahead
of incoming frontal system from the NW. Will see some light
showers over night then clearing behind the front by late Tuesday
morning. Winds expected to stay mainly out of the W to SW then
turn to the NW with the frontal passage. VSBYs should stay in the
VFR range with some periods of MVFR readings in and around shower
activity tonight.

Patchy dense fog will impact the major interstate system during
the morning rush hour. Observations indicate low visibilities
