Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.  However gusty winds are
still possible with this thunderstorm.

.DISCUSSION.../Tonight through Wednesday/
Issued at 322 PM CDT Wed Jul 25 2018

Upper trough rotating across Manitoba/Ontario currently on water
vapor imagery with the sfc low situated across NE Ontario. An
associated sfc trough axis and cold front extends south southeast
through southern MN/southern SD/eastern NE. A few storms have
developed in vicinity of the pre-frontal trough across far NW IA and
southern MN, with another storm near the front itself in SW MN.
Isolated to scattered storms expected to continue to develop along
and ahead of the front through the late afternoon hours and spread
across northern Iowa through early evening. As the upper trough
drops into the Great Lakes region/eastern Ontario through this
evening and the front continues to push into Iowa, activity is
expected to move into central Iowa toward late evening. However main
areas of forcing to move more into WI/IL and NE/KS, with coverage
expected to become more limited as the front sags into
central/southern Iowa. This is also expected due to decreasing
instability as it approaches central/southern Iowa with cloud cover
having been in place much of the day. Therefore have the highest
pops toward mid evening across the north. Decent shear with any
storm that becomes organized so could still see an isolated severe
storm with damaging winds the main threat and large hail a secondary
threat. All activity expected to push south of the area as the front
moves into northern Missouri late tonight. High pressure to build
into the state for Thursday into early Friday with dry and cooler
conditions expected as H85 temps drop to around +9C to +10C across
the area.

Another shortwave trough to drop through a northwest flow pattern
late Friday which could spread some showers/isolated storms into
west central to southern Iowa. Greater chances for rain showers to
come Saturday into Saturday night as a stronger trough to dig into
the region and move from the Dakotas early Saturday across Iowa
Saturday night. Little instability present with this system across
Iowa so expect mainly rain to showers and no thunder to isolated
thunder through the day. May have a lingering light shower into
Sunday, but then dry conditions expected Sunday night into Monday.
General troughiness aloft in the area through midweek so could see
another pop up storms late Tuesday, but overall expect dry and cool
conditions to continue through mid week.

.AVIATION.../For the 00Z TAFS through 00Z Thursday evening/

Cold front moving through the TAF locations tonight.  some strong
storms may impact KFOD, KMCW and KALO but due to the isold nature of
the severe storms have not included strong wind gusts in the TAF at
this time.  Vsbys should drop to between 1 and 2SM in heavy
rainfall.  Window for storms once they approach is about 2 hours.
Storms are expected to weaken after sunset so KDSM and KOTM may not
see the MVFR/brief local IFR conditions.  VFR conditions expected
after FROPA.

central Iowa with the primary risks being large hail and damaging
wind gusts from this afternoon into this evening.

A River Flood Warning also remains in effect for the West Fork
Des Moines River. Please refer to the National Weather Service
website at weather.gov/desmoines for further details.

River flood warnings remain in effect near Estherville through
the week.

a line extending from 9 miles southwest of Britt to Webb. Movement
was southeast at 25 mph.

Half inch hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
these storms.

a line extending from near Sheffield to near Charles City. Movement
was southeast at 40 mph.

Half inch hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Allison, Clarksville, Sheffield, Greene, Dumont, Plainfield, Bristow,
Aredale, Dougherty and Allison Municipal Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
