* At 1:15 PM Friday the stage was 12.3 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Forecast: Rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and continue
to rise to between 24.5 and 25 feet by Saturday evening. Heavier
than anticipated rainfall could result in major flooding on the
Oso Creek.
* At 25.0 feet Major flooding reaches the approaches to the Farm to
Market 763 bridge. Numerous outbuildings and barns are surrounded,
and flow approaches apartment buildings below Farm to Market 763.
Kings Crossing Golf Course is at least 1/2 flooded. Water is within 3
feet of some homes, and within 1 foot of the bridge on Staples
Street. Water flows across Oso Parkway Road at 2 low areas in the
extreme south portion of the Lakes Subdivision.

rise to near 27.2 feet by tomorrow late evening. The creek will
likely exceed major flood stage of 25 feet by early Saturday
afternoon.
* At 28.0 feet Major lowland flooding occurs. Numerous barns and
structures flood near Farm to Market 763. There is nearly two feet of
water over Farm to Market 763. County Road 43 is flooded. Staples
Street near the Botanical Gardens will have 3 or more feet of water
on it. The Lakes Subdivision on the south side of Corpus Christi will
have water over Oso Parkway and into their front yards.

* At 28.0 feet Major lowland flooding occurs. Numerous barns and
structures flood near Farm to Market 763. There is nearly two feet of
water over Farm to Market 763. County Road 43 is flooded. Staples

Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Corpus Christi TX Issued by National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio TX 422 AM CDT Wed Sep 12 2018 .SHORT TERM (Today through Thursday)... A weak upper level low remains centered across the CWA this morning. On the eastern side, upward forcing continues to lead to a large area of showers and thunderstorms. Some of this activity is producing moderate to heavy rainfall and may be capable of minor flooding within the heavier precip. High-res model guidance shows the inland precip diminishing after sunrise with continuing rainfall over the near and off shore waters. For the afternoon, scattered showers and thunderstorms should be pretty widespread once again with peak afternoon heating. The higher rain chances will remain closer to the coast with lesser chances towards Laredo. The focus then shifts to the Gulf of Mexico for possible tropical cyclone development. Latest IR Satellite imagery continues to show a broad area of low pressure north of the Yucatan Peninsula slowly moving to the northwest. Latest probabilities for tropical cyclone development remain at 70 percent from the National Hurricane Center as it slowly drifts towards South Texas today and tomorrow. If it were to develop, models are all in agreement that the highest intensity possible would be a Tropical Storm. The ECMWF which had been the more robust member of guidance has toned things down with the 00z run and is now weaker with the center it does develop. The biggest threat from this system will be possible heavy rainfall. This threat would begin Thursday as easterly winds on the north side of the system increase moisture values even further from the already high levels already in place. Will show 70 PoPs in the eastern areas and much of the Gulf Thursday afternoon with slightly lesser PoPs to the west. && .LONG TERM... (Thursday night through Tuesday) The center of the system whether it by a cyclone or broad system will be moving onshore somewhere near the CWA on Friday. This will increase rain chances with 70 PoPs across much of the CWA. The main threat will be the continued rainfall on top of already saturated grounds. A Flash Flood Watch may be needed over the next couple of days as we get closer to the event. Rainfall totals could exceed 5 inches through the weekend for areas mainly closer to the coast.
