* At 7 AM Saturday the stage was 5.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, the river will rise above flood stage by this afternoon 
  and continue to rise to near 6.2 feet by early Sunday morning.
* At 6.0 feet, the access road into the River Bluff in Midville 
  floods. The lower portion of Johnson Road near Herndon is also 
  flooded.

  Alternate including Camp Buddy Road and Martins Landing Road.

* At 18.0 feet, the boat landing at the end of Santee Landing Road 
  will be inaccessible. The lower half mile of Corner Loop Road will 
  be impassable due to backwater effects from Pole Branch Creek. 
  Water covers the lower quarter mile of Lawton Farm Lane.

.SYNOPSIS...
A storm system will shift over the region today. Dry weather is
then expected until another storm system affects the area late
in the week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
As of 610 AM: The surface cold front has pushed north of the
region and beyond the near shore waters. Showers in the wake of
the front will remain light with generally fast storm motions.
As a result, the threat for excessive rainfall has passed with
the departure of the cold front. I have cancelled the Flash
Flood Watch.

As of 300 AM: GOES-East water vapor indicated the center of a well
developed closed mid-level low near the MS/AL state line with a
stream of moisture from the east U.S. coast south to southern
Mexico. The closed low is expected to track northeast, reaching the
southern Appalachians this evening. As the low approaches from the
west, a wide field of mid level Q-vector convergence will slide
across the forecast area. The combination of the mid level forcing
and the passage of the sfc cold front is expected to support a
gradual increase in the shower activity near the SC coast early this
morning. In fact, at 3 AM KCLX detected a wind shift,  likely
associated with the cold front, over Dorchester and Charleston
Counties. The HREF and latest HRRR indicate that the rainfall rates
associated with the showers will peak between 9Z-12Z. In the wake of
the showers, dry air should advance from SW to NE across the
forecast area. It is expected that the coverage of showers will
rapidly decrease from west to east during the morning daylight
hours. Given the expected increase of shower coverage and rainfall
rates, the Flash Flood Watch will remain with this forecast package.
However, the flooding threat will rapidly decrease around or
slightly after daybreak. By this afternoon, it is possible that
period of partly sunny conditions will develop across the forecast
area. The combination of increasing insolation and weak CAA should
favor highs peaking int the upper 60s this afternoon.

The center of the closed mid level low will continue to track NE
across NC tonight. The night will likely begin with waves of thicker
high clouds. By late tonight, the high clouds will likely thin or
track north of the forecast area, resulting in clearing condition.
NAM12 indicates that a sfc trough with weak CAA will slide over the
Midlands during the pre-dawn hours. The approach of the feature may
provide weak llvl return flow across most of the forecast area late
tonight. Using a blend of MOS, I will forecast lows from the mid to
upper 40s inland to near 50 along the coast.

.SHORT TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
The area will be on the backside of departing low pressure Sunday
with drier conditions prevailing. Temperatures will remain above
normal however as the incoming air mass has more Pacific roots than
Canadian. Dry weather will prevail Monday despite an upper
disturbance moving through as the air mass remains too dry. A dry
cold front should push through Monday night with dry and cooler high
pressure for Tuesday with highs a bit below normal ranging from the
mid/upper 50s across the SC Lowcountry to lower/mid 60s across the
GA Coastal Empire.

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Troughing will try to develop offshore Tuesday night and then push
northward Wednesday as surface high pressure to the north moves east
into the Atlantic. This could lead to a few showers into Wednesday
night but better rain chances will come Thursday and Thursday night
as deeper moisture advects into the area ahead of a deep upper
trough over the central U.S. and synoptic forcing peaks. Another
couple inches of rain will be possible and given the recent rain and
resultant wet ground there could be at least some minor flooding.
Instability appears low at this time so not anticipating any
thunderstorms. Rain chances look to wind down Friday with drier and
cooler weather to round out the week.

.AVIATION /11Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
A cold front has pushed north of the terminals, resulting in SW
winds. Ceilings will likely remain chaotic early this morning,
with periods of IFR to VFR. However, VFR conditions will develop
by mid-morning at KSAV and mid-day at KCHS, remaining through
the rest of the 12Z TAF period.

Extended Aviation Outlook:  VFR should prevail Sunday through
Wednesday before chances for restrictions increase Wednesday night
and especially Thursday.

.MARINE...
A cold front will sweep across the marine zones early this morning.
In the wake of the front, winds will shift from the SSW today and
then from the WNW tonight. Speeds are forecast to generally range
from 10-15 kts. Seas are expected to decrease by around 1 ft from
sunrise today to sunrise Sunday. As a result, Small Craft Advisories
are scheduled to end across the GA and southern SC near shore waters
this morning, CHS County waters late this evening, and outer GA
waters late tonight.

Sunday through Thursday: Although winds will remain elevated Sunday
we aren't expecting Small Craft Advisories. Otherwise, no concerns
until Thursday when conditions start to go back downhill as a storm
system affects the region.
