* At 914 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles west of
  Eastover, or 14 miles southeast of Forest Acres, and is nearly
  stationary.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

.SYNOPSIS...
Weak frontal boundary moving southward will slowly cross the
area through Friday. Over the weekend high pressure will move
north of the region as an upper level ridge builds into the
area. This combination will result in chances of mainly
afternoon and evening thunderstorms along with rising
temperatures into early next week.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
A frontal boundary located just south of the Virginia border,
across northern North Carolina, will continue to gradually
advance southward tonight. Scattered showers and thunderstorms
that developed over southern and eastern portions of the area
this evening are beginning to diminish. However, there is still
the potential for some strong or even severe storms. LI values
are still up to -6 with MUCAPE values 2000 to 3000 J/kg.
Additionally, DCAPE values have increased and are greater than
1000 J/kg, so any strong storms are capable of producing
damaging winds. PWAT values are also high around 1.6 central
Midlands to 1.9 inches east, so locally heavy downpours will
also be possible. Coverage should diminish tonight with loss of
daytime heating.

Temperatures are forecast to be similar to last night, with lows
in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT/...
Upper level trough over the northeast will gradually move east
as an upper ridge over the MS River Valley moves east.
A frontal boundary will remain across the Midlands Friday
then become diffuse over the area Saturday as surface high
pressure ridges in from the north. Models indicate weak short
wave energy crossing the area in northwest flow aloft.
PWAT will range between 1.50 and 2.0 inches with weak to
moderate instability during the afternoon. So expect a
chance for showers and thunderstorms each day.

Temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s for afternoon highs
with overnight lows in the low 70s.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
The upper level ridge will build over the region Sunday and
slip southwest of the area Wednesday as a trough crosses the
northeastern states. Surface high pressure off the the coast
will ridge into the southeastern states with a lee side trough
developing the western Carolinas. Main concern will be above
normal temperatures with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s
and lows in the low to mid 70s. Heat indices will range between
100 and 105 degrees each day. Scattered diurnal thunderstorms
are also possible.

.AVIATION /00Z FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Generally VFR conditions expected throughout the 24-hr TAF
period outside of scattered diurnal convection.

Afternoon convection generally remaining away from the terminals
but will include VCSH at CAE/CUB through 02z with convection
nearby. Otherwise generally clearing skies overnight with some
remaining convective debris high clouds around. MOS guidance not
showing any fog/stratus overnight but since OGB had some rain
have included brief MVFR vsbys.

Winds will become light and variable to calm overnight. A weak
frontal boundary will sink south into the area during the
predawn hours Friday turning winds to the north at CAE/CUB. This
boundary is expected to stall over the area near Columbia so
winds may become variable at CAE/CUB during the day but should
become southwesterly at AGS/DNL/OGB around 5 to 7 knots.
Convection likely to develop in vicinity of the front with
diurnal heating but not included in this forecast due
uncertainty in exact location yet.

EXTENDED AVIATION OUTLOOK...There may be restrictions in
stratus and fog during the early morning hours and also in
mainly afternoon and evening thunderstorms through Tuesday.

At 708 PM EDT...National Weather Service doppler radar indicated
strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles west of
Clyde to 9 miles north of Oakland, moving south at 5 mph.

  HAZARD...strong winds 45 to 55 mph and up to nickel sized hail.

  IMPACT...expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
           light, unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to plants,
           trees and crops is possible. Damage to windshields is
           unlikely.
