* At  9 AM Saturday the stage was 18.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* At 19.0 feet...Extensive swampland and large areas of farmland and 
  pasture land downstream from Columbia become flooded.
* At 16.0 feet...Old State Road, SC 66, below Cayce becomes flooded.
* At 14.0 feet...Roads in low lying areas and swampland downstream 
  from Columbia become flooded. Most of the Cayce and West Columbia 
  river walk is flooded. 
* At 10.0 feet...Portions of the Cayce and West Columbia Riverwalk 
  become flooded.

.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will build into the area through tonight bringing
a cold and dry air mass that will settle over the are through
the weekend.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
Surface high pressure continues to build into the forecast area
this morning from the deep south while a deep low pressure
system moves up the New England coast. Visible satellite imagery
showing mainly clear skies across the region with a few high
cirrus clouds crossing the area. Winds have diminished on area
lakes and Lake Wind advisory was allowed to expire earlier.
Freeze warning has also been allowed to expire as temperatures
are rising quickly through the 40s.

There will be weak cold advection today but it will be offset a
bit with some downsloping northwesterly flow. High temperatures
will be in the mid to upper 50s this afternoon.

The main concern tonight will be potential for frost/freeze as
the surface high settles over the region and with a dry airmass
in place expect strong radiational cooling conditions. Guidance
suggests that dewpoints will recover tonight but there is some
uncertainty with that and guidance temps may be too warm. Lows
likely will be in the lower to mid 30s.

.SHORT TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Dry and seasonably cool high pressure will continue to dominate
the weather across the Midlands and CSRA over the weekend. A
weak coastal trough will develop Saturday night into Sunday. Any
chance of a shower appears to be across coastal Georgia to the
Lowcountry of South Carolina. Expect a moderation of the air
mass with max temperatures rising into the low to mid 60s
Saturday into Sunday. Overnight lows will will range from the
middle 30s north to lower 40s south Saturday night and 40 to 45
for Sunday night.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
The weak trough along the coast will persist into early next
week but then a reinforcing cold front appears to move through
Tuesday. Any moisture along the coast will remain east of the
CWA and the front appears to have limited moisture associated
with it as it crosses the Midlands and CSRA. Behind the cold
front, high pressure over New England will dominate the weather
for much of Thanksgiving week. Temperatures may be close to
normal on Monday and Tuesday, but then slightly below normal for
the remainder of the week behind the front. Temperatures will
mainly be in the 60s for highs, except for 50s Wednesday and
Thursday. Overnight lows will mainly be in the 40s, except in
the 30s for Wednesday night.

.AVIATION /20Z FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
VFR conditions expected through the period.

High pressure will continue to build over the region tonight.
Some higher clouds passing over the area today should eventually
give way to clear skies overnight. Guidance is suggesting some
potential for fog development due to strong radiational cooling
but confidence not high enough to include at this time. Winds
will be from the west around 5-7 knots through sunset then
become light and variable to calm. Winds pick up after 14-15z
Saturday but likely to remain around 5 knots or less.

EXTENDED AVIATION OUTLOOK...No significant impacts to aviation
expected through Wednesday.

.HYDROLOGY...
Widespread rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches with some areas
as high as 4 to 5 inches have produced significant rises on many
of the area rivers and streams. This is producing minor to
moderate flooding on many of the area rivers. Flooding will
continue on the Congaree River, Enoree River, Great Pee Dee
River and Wateree River through the weekend and into next week.
