Low pressure tracking NE from the mid Atlantic coast will bring
occasional showers into tonight. Dry for the most of the week
with showers towards late week. Weekend looking cool with the
potential return of showery weather and warmer conditions late.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Showers are expanding across western MA into NW CT early this
morning assocd with developing mid level fgen/deformation and
deepening moisture axis. This mid level forcing will remain
focused across western and especially NW MA through the morning
and early afternoon and occasional showers will persist here.
Further south and east, especially near the south coast, rather
dry air in the low levels will maintain mostly dry weather into
the early afternoon.

Coastal low tracking NE from Mid Atlc coast this afternoon.
Deepening moisture and higher theta-e air lifting north along
the coast with marginal elevated instability will lead to
showers developing and expanding across RI and SE MA by mid
afternoon which gradually moves north through the evening. While
the heavier rainfall will likely remain just offshore it is
possible a period of heavier rainfall will impact the Cape and
Islands mid/late afternoon.

Two primary areas of rain today, across western MA this morning
and SE New Eng this afternoon. In between these areas, weak
subsidence will be present with just a few light showers and
limited rainfall. High temps will be mostly in the 60s.

Mid level trof passage combined with right entrance region of
the upper jet will result in more showers tonight across much of
SNE. Timing of the showers will be mostly in the evening with

front moves through the region. However, abundant low level
moisture will keep low clouds and patchy fog through the
overnight.

Lingering clouds in the morning, especially eastern MA along
with low risk of an early shower, then drying in the column will
result in partly sunny skies developing from west to east late
morning through the afternoon as high pres builds in from the
west. Gusty NE winds will develop along the coast in the
morning before gradually diminishing in the afternoon. It will
be a cool day across eastern MA with highs remaining in the
mid/upper 50s with NE winds. Further inland temps will range
through the 60s, with the mildest readings in the CT valley.

stalling, Atlantic wide-open, its a synoptic pattern of quick
back and forths. On the transitional zone cusp per H85 5-day
ensemble anomalies, however, perhaps trending towards the polar
low retreating N as the Bermuda / Atlantic high builds into mid-

Leaning dry. 06.0z NAM over zealous? Apparent weak mid-level cut-off
trof pattern gradually sweeping, kicked E by late-week disturbance,
deamplifying in the process. Lot of mid-upper level dry air. Perhaps
isentropic pull back along 290-310K surfaces beneath cyclonic flow,
early week cold front dragged N, closer, as a warm front. This as
Canadian high pressure shifts E, a weak wave low developing along
the front in response to weak mid-level cut-off. However, under-
cutting drier air per isallobaric response, tough to see why 06.0z
NAM is spitting out QPF given low-level pull back / wrap-in of dry
air beneath an already dry environment. Lean with low to mid level
clouds along the S/SE coast, mainly stratus, no visibility issues.
Persistent E/NE fetch, keeping it cool E/SE coastal New England.

Thursday night into Friday...

Upstream kicker with Pacific-energy followed by a N-stream dip thru
the preferred trof pattern yielding shower chances along a sweeping
cold front. Simply nuisance, not a washout, not seeing any thunder.
Can't rule out blustery winds out ahead and immediately following
the cold frontal passage. Decent pressure rises behind the front
along with a stout thermal gradient given N-stream dip.

Weekend...

Saturday looking cool beneath Canadian high pressure. Sunday perhaps
wet with a lifting warm front, yet low confidence given dynamics so
flat and more favorable N/W per consensus of global guidance. If a
low-level jet can seriously amplifying with sub-tropical juice out
ahead of SW CONUS troughing, convergent into lifting warm front,
then wet-weather chances would turn more significant.

western half of MA into northwest CT with mainly dry weather
near the coast. Second area of showers expected to lift north
from the ocean and overspread RI and SE MA after 2 pm. VFR cigs
will lower to MVFR across RI and SE MA after 18z with IFR
developing along the south coast and Cape/Islands.

Tonight...
Widespread MVFR/IFR cigs developing with patchy fog along the
coast. Occasional showers through about midnight, then
diminishing overnight.

Monday...
MVFR SE New Eng in the morning improving to VFR in the
afternoon with gradual clearing from NW to SE. Gusty NE winds
to 25 kt along the eastern MA coast and Cape/Islands.

of the night but a surge of 25 kt gusts may develop by daybreak over
NE MA waters. Building southerly swell from offshore coastal storm
will increase seas up to 6 ft over south coastal waters after
midnight. Occasional showers through midnight and some patchy fog
will lower vsbys at times.

Monday...NE gusts to 25-30 kt developing on all waters. Gusty NE
winds combined with southerly swell will result in rough and
choppy seas.
