HOUSTON...SOUTHEASTERN LA CROSSE...VERNON AND SOUTHERN MONROE
COUNTIES...

At 452 AM CDT, local law enforcement in the warned area reported 
many roads washed out and roads with water and mud over them. Severe 
flooding continues along the Coon Creek and in Coon Valley. Expect 
this to continue through this morning.  

Excessive rainfall that fell over the warned area will cause mud 
slides near steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, 
vegetation and other loose materials.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Coon Valley, Oil City, Wilton, Viroqua, Caledonia, Westby, 
Hillsboro, Spring Grove, Cashton, Houston, Stoddard, La Farge, 
Hokah, New Albin, Brownsville, Glendale, Springville, Portland, 
Norwalk, and Ontario.

Rainfall has pretty much ended across the area with the exceptions 
of a few thunderstorms lingering across southern Monroe county. 
Up to another inch of rain can be expected across that area. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

numerous roads along with numerous closures.

Excessive rainfall that fell over the warned area may cause 
additional mud slides near steep terrain. These slides can consist 
of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
