The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona...

* Until 145 AM MST

* At 1044 PM MST, earlier heavy rainfall feeding into the Tanque 
  Verde Wash has generated a 6 to 7 ft wall of water heading 
  downstream. Areas near the banks of the Tanque Verde may 
  experience flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Areas near the Tanque Verde Wash, including portions of 
  north Tucson, Tanque Verde and Catalina Foothills. 

This includes the following streams and drainages...Tanque Verde 
Wash and associated portions of the Pantano Wash...Rillito 
River...Ventana Canyon Wash...Sabino Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 AM MST FOR
EASTERN PIMA COUNTY...

At 1234 AM MST, gauge reports indicated that very heavy flow 
continued to work downstream through the Tanque Verde Wash. The 
Tanque Verde Wash near Chiva Tank peaked near 10.2 ft / 14,600 cfs 
around 11 PM, and was currently maintaining 8.5 ft / 9200 cfs. 
Downstream at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch, the highest reading so far 
has been 5.5 ft / 5500 cfs in the past hour. Areas near the banks of 
the Tanque Verde may experience flooding.

Normally dry washes and low water crossings may be inundated in the 
following locations... Areas near the Tanque Verde Wash, including 
portions of north Tucson, Tanque Verde and Catalina Foothills. 

This includes the following streams and drainages...Tanque Verde 
Wash and associated portions of Pantano Wash... Rillito 
River...Ventana Canyon Wash...and Sabino Creek.

Flow is diminishing from earlier heavy rain. Flash Flooding is no 
longer expected to pose a threat, however expect heavy flow to 
continue down the Tanque Verde and other streams and washes in the
