.AVIATION...
CONCERNING TAF SITES KTUL/KRVS/KBVO/KMLC/KXNA/KFYV/KFSM/KROG.
Breezy southerly winds this evening should subside some overnight
across Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas before becoming
gusty during the day Tuesday ahead of a low pressure system
approaching the Plains. With the forecast of easterly winds
overnight for FSM..will carry LLWS into Tuesday morning. Few to
scattered high clouds tonight over the CWA also look to increase
Tuesday morning across Northeast Oklahoma with scattered to broken
mid and high clouds forecast. Few to scattered high clouds should
remain common for Northwest Arkansas. VFR conditions should
persist through the TAF period over the region.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 321 PM CDT Mon May 15 2017/

DISCUSSION...
After one more quiet day...the upper pattern will once again become
more active as several systems impact the region from mid week
and continuing well into the weekend. The first upper wave will
eject from the Rocky Mountain region late in the day
Tuesday...with storms expected to develop along the dryline which
at that time will be situated across the TX/OK panhandle. This
activity will make a run overnight towards eastern Oklahoma...with
the best chances for storms remaining across the western zones
late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning. Coverage is expected
to diminish during the day Wednesday as the upper wave quickly
lifts off to the northeast. Little in the way of a focus for
convection the remainder of the day...but will leave slight chance
pops in. The area will be in between systems Wednesday night into
Thursday. Elevated storm potential increases Thursday as wind
fields strengthen...but more organized activity will likely hold
off until later Thursday as a slower moving closed low enters
the Plains. Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are likely
in the late Thursday into Saturday time period as the upper low
and surface boundary continue to slowly move east. Locally heavy
rainfall will be possible...which may quickly raise flood
potential given the conditions in place from recent rainfall.
Upper system to begin to lift off to the northeast by the latter
half of the upcoming weekend...and rain chances will begin to
diminish from northwest to southeast during the day Sunday.
Generally followed guidance temperatures...especially later in the
week with the cooler temperatures that are expected.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Gusty south winds in excess of 30 miles an hour will be possible
during the day Tuesday as a strong upper wave moves out of the
desert Southwest. Thunderstorm chances will increase Tuesday night
as storms track east into the region. A few of these storms could
be strong to severe with damaging winds and large hail.

Another strong upper level storm system will move out of the
Rockies on Thursday with a cold front moving into north central
Oklahoma. Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible near the
front over northeast Oklahoma into Thursday evening.

Thunderstorm chances remain in the forecast for the rest of the

up for Friday into Saturday, with severe weather and heavy
