The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Garfield County in southern Utah...
* Until 600 PM MDT
* At 301 PM MDT, Thunderstorm activity over the headwater areas of
the Escalante River including Canaan, North Creek, Wide Hollow,
Birch, and Pine Creek. All of these tributaries flow into the
Escalante River.
* Widespread flash flooding has been reported throughout Southern
Utah this afternoon due to intense rainfall. These areas have
received up to an inch of precipitation in a short period of time
and are very flash flood prone.
* If you are traveling through these areas, please be aware of the
threat and take action for your safety.
