* Until 515 PM MDT
* At 218 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain over drainages to the east and including Capitol Reef
National Park. Heavy rainfall with up to an inch in a short period
of time is currently moving through the area.
* Many slot canyons and flash flood prone drainages are within the
warning and should be avoided.
* If you are traveling through this area...please take actions to
ensure your safety.

At 357 PM MDT, Due to flash flooding throughout Capitol Reef
National Park, rangers have closed the Scenic Drive due to flood
damage and active flooding.
While rainfall has slowed throughout the area, flash flooding
continues and can be expected to be a threat through the evening
hours.
If you are traveling through the Park or areas to the east, please
use caution and be aware for high water.

COUNTIES...
At 443 PM MDT, Radar rainfall estimates indicate that close to an
inch of rainfall has fallen over most of Capitol Reef National Park.
As such, widespread flash flooding has been reported. The Grand
Wash, Capitol Gorge, and the Scenic Drive have all experienced
dangerous flash flooding.
While rainfall has ended over most of the Park, it will require a
bit of time for the streams and washes to dewater.
Please be vigilant for remaining high water through the evening and
nighttime hours.
