This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of south central
Arkansas, southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest
Louisiana, east Texas and northeast Texas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight...

The upper low over the Gulf coast remains in play today with
another good sea breeze push inland. Scattered showers and
thunderstorms over much the area this afternoon will be capable
of producing gusty winds to 30 MPH, deadly lightning and brief
heavy rainfall. An isolated storm may produce damaging winds as
storms develop on outflow boundaries from previous storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday...

The pattern aloft that has brought this recent chance for
rainfall will linger to some extent into the work week as another
upper disturbance over Northern Mississippi drifts our way in the
Tropical Easterlies for early in the work week. Rain chances will
start to taper off as the upper ridge returns, suppressing the
chance for rain in the Four State Area mid to late week with
daytime highs climbing back into the middle to upper nineties.
This will likely mean more heat advisories for the late week.

Activation of emergency management personnel, amateur radio
operators and storm spotters will not be needed through tonight.

Arkansas, southeast Oklahoma and northeast Texas.

A heat advisory will remain in effect until 6 PM CDT for areas
along and North of I-30. The combination of the hot temperatures
and relative humidity producing maximum heat indices of 105 to 108
degrees. Precautions should be taken to prevent heat related
injuries if out and about during the day. Widely scattered
showers and thunderstorms over the area will be capable of
producing gusty winds to 30 MPH, deadly lightning and brief heavy
rainfall. An isolated storm may produce damaging winds as storms
develop on outflow boundaries from previous storms.

At 445 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Coushatta, or 19 miles northwest of Natchitoches, moving south at 15
mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Natchitoches, Coushatta, Campti, Allen, Martin, Clarence, Edgefield,
Robeline, Powhatan, Lake End, Grand Ecore, Hanna, Marthaville,
Hagewood, Armistead and Ajax.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
