.AVIATION...
Tricky terminal forecast this cycle as we move into the evening
and overnight hours. Plenty of low level moisture remaining in the
atmosphere in the wake of widespread rainfall which effected the
terminal sites earlier today. Still dealing with a few showers
near the MLU terminal early this evening but this activity should
begin dissipating over the next several hours. Ceilings are mostly
VFR for now with a few sites experiencing MVFR ceilings namely the
GGG and MLU terminals. Cirrus is beginning to thin and that could
result in a return to IFR ceilings later tonight with the
possibility of visibility restrictions as well given very low
temp/dewpt depressions. Should see IFR/LIFR ceilings returning
late tonight to most all terminal locations but confidence is not
high on this taking place. At the very least, should see MVFR
ceilings developing later tonight with 3-5SM visibilities but
would not be surprised to see lower conditions.

Any low ceilings/vsby restrictions should rebound by mid to late
morning and tried to show VFR conditions returning to all terminal
sites by late morning into the afternoon on Wed. Winds will be
light and variable overnight with a SE component to the wind
across our NE TX terminal locations during the daytime hours on
Wed.

DISCUSSION...
The progression of a weak slow-moving cold front through the area
has slowed this afternoon with a weak surface low developing along
the boundary. This has been evident on visible satellite imagery
and radar loops with low-level cyclonic circulation aiding in the
development of additional light showers well behind the band of
heavier rainfall across our extreme southern zones this afternoon.
As the front continues to sag slowly south this evening, rain will
further diminish across the region but have held pops across our
southeast half through midnight with more isolated activity
possible beyond that. Lows will drop off tonight into the 50s and
60s despite lingering cloud cover over the region. Little change
behind the front in terms of daytime temperatures with highs back
near 80 degrees on Wednesday and only a slight chance of showers
and storms, mainly over our southern sections where the front will
become quite diffuse by Wednesday morning.

Upper ridge will set up across the region for the latter half of
the work week with weak disturbances riding up along the western
and northern periphery, but our region will remain largely warm
and dry under the ridge. High temperatures will average in the low
to mid 80s through Saturday with rain chances slowly creeping back
into the picture by the upcoming Easter weekend as the upper ridge
shifts east of the region. Meanwhile, another cold front shifting
south from the Plains will stall north of our region over the
weekend into early next week. Thus, expect southerly winds keep
Gulf moisture in good supply and warmer temperatures to continue
despite the increasing cloud cover and rain chances from Saturday
through early next week with the stalled boundary remaining just
to our north.
