This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Kentucky, southeast
Ohio, southwest Virginia, and portions of central West Virginia,
northeast West Virginia, northern West Virginia, southeast West
Virginia, southern West Virginia and western West Virginia.

A strong low pressure system and cold front will bring showers and
strong to possibly severe thunderstorms late today and tonight,
which also may cause localized flooding issues.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Rain showers will change over to snow showers for Thursday night and
early Friday, but with little to no accumulation expected.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast West
Virginia and southeast West Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

A strong low pressure system and cold front will bring showers and
strong to possibly severe thunderstorms tonight, which also may
cause localized flooding issues.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Rain showers will change to snow showers later on Thursday, and
continue into Friday. Winter weather advisories may be needed.

LAWRENCE COUNTIES...

At 820 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from near Summit Station to near Sharkey.
Movement was northeast at 50 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Athens, Ashland, Portsmouth, Ironton, Jackson, Wellston, Nelsonville,
New Lexington, Grayson, Coal Grove, Glouster, Mcarthur, Olive Hill,
Oak Hill, Somerset, Rio Grande, Albany, Shawnee, Lake Hope State Park
and Cannonsburg.

This includes Interstate 64 in Kentucky between mile markers 149 and
191.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may
cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.

At 923 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from 8 miles southwest of Byesville to near
Greenup. Movement was east northeast at 65 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Huntington, Parkersburg, Athens, Ashland, Marietta, Ironton, Belpre,
Point Pleasant, Gallipolis, Ripley, Louisa, Winfield, Coal Grove, St.
Marys, Pomeroy, Glouster, McConnelsville, Oak Hill, Wayne and
Beverly.

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS...
 Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 128 and 186.
 Interstate 77 in Ohio between mile markers 1 and 17.
 Interstate 64 in Kentucky between mile markers 182 and 191.
 Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 1 and 39.
 Route 50 in West Virginia between mile markers 1 and 39.
