.SYNOPSIS...
Drying out and remaining cool under increasing high pressure
influences. Dry and cold weather for early next week. A wet and
warmer system for mid and late week.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
As of 220 AM Sunday...

Clouds and remaining rain showers/mountain snow showers will
exit this morning as upper level low pulls eastward.

With a dry airmass in place, insolation will help the max temps
along today wile 850mb temps reside in the low single digits.
Another developing surface trough will spur on some cloud cover
over the northern zones after 21Z today, carrying over into the
early part of the tonight period, but should dissolve by around
06Z Monday.

Overall, we are in good shape for some patchy frost. The
temperatures tonight are easily there in the low to mid 30s.
Winds should also cooperate as well, especially in the valleys
and hollows. However, the dewpoint depression may be too great
in some places where the 2 meter differences will be in the 10F
range. This is also a reason for frost instead of fog despite
recent rains.

.SHORT TERM /MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
As of 230 PM Saturday...

The period starts cold and dry per cold air aloft...minus 4C at
H850...and expected radiational cooling under clear skies Sunday
night. Temperatures will be in the mid to low 30s which may
warrant a frost advisory for some areas.

It stays dry and cool Monday as a weak but broad sfc high
pressure builds across the western OH Valley. This feature will
produce northerly dry and cool air mass to the area Monday. Dry
conditions will continue Monday night. Models are showing a
quasi stationary front south of the area that slowly lift north
as a warm front. The NAM/GFS/ECMWF models are in agreement
bringing QPF across the extreme portions of WV and southwest VA
Monday night into Tuesday. This axis of pcpn will lift slowly
north bringing showers or storms further north into WV and
southeast OH.

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/...
As of 230 PM Saturday...

The GFS/ECMWF are in agreement of having an oscillating frontal
boundary oriented west to east across the area. With a series of
mid level shortwave, this boundary will remain as the focus for
persistent rain showers over the same areas. Although it is too
early to have good confidence, if the aforementioned environment
materialize, there could be a threat for water problem by mid
week.

.AVIATION /06Z SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
As of 120 AM Sunday...

Overall improvement to the aviation forecast expected as cloud
cover/remaining showers and mountain snow showers exit west to
east through 16Z. Mainly clear conditions beyond that heading
into the Sunday night time frame after 00Z Monday. Could get
some gusts to 20kts again today after 17Z. Have concerns about
valley fog after 00Z Monday, but the low levels/surface are
very dry in forecast soundings. Could end up frosting out
instead, so will not use any visibility restrictions late in
the TAF.
