The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
South central McDowell County in southern West Virginia...
* Until 600 PM EDT
* At 257 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of south central
McDowell County.
Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in the
warned area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM EDT FOR
SOUTH CENTRAL MCDOWELL COUNTY...
At 415 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms had produced
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain fell
across a small area along Vall Creek, Dry Fork and Jacobs Fork.
Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of south central
McDowell County.
The thunderstorms have moved out of the area, however it will still
take a while for any high water to recede.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

spots.
