The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Storey County in western Nevada...
  Southern Washoe County in western Nevada...

* Until 530 AM PST

* At 124 AM PST, another band of moderate to heavy precipitation was 
  moving into far western Nevada. rainfall rates of up to 0.20 
  inches per hour are possible in this band below 5000 to 5500 feet. 
  Some areas may experience brief heavy snow that melts as it falls. 
  That will also add to the potential for flooding. 

* Current flooding will be slow to ease, making this additional 
  rainfall add to the ongoing flooding...especially in low lying 
  areas near small streams. The lower portions of recent burn scars 
  are at risk as well.
  
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Reno, Sparks, Stead, Wingfield Springs, Damonte Ranch, Northwest 
  Reno, Spanish Springs, Pleasant Valley, Lemmon Valley, Golden 
  Valley, Hidden Valley, Sutcliffe, and Mogul. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 AM PST FOR
STOREY AND SOUTHERN WASHOE COUNTIES...

At 346 AM PST, gage and public reports indicate flooding continues 
along many low lying areas of the Sierra Front from Washoe Valley 
north to Spanish Springs. Steamboat Creek is falling in South Reno, 
but continues to rise near its confluence with the Truckee River in 
Sparks. In addition, many other smaller creeks are experiencing high 
flows, including Hardscrabble Creek near Sutcliffe. High water will 
continue for the next couple hours through 530 AM.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Reno, Sparks, Stead, Wingfield Springs, Damonte Ranch, Northwest 
Reno, Spanish Springs, Pleasant Valley, Lemmon Valley, Golden 
Valley, Hidden Valley, Sutcliffe, and Mogul. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

This is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION! Runoff will quickly flood low
lying areas, streets, streams, creeks and rivers. Many roadways will
be closed due to the heavy rainfall and travel is not recommended.
