A few storms this evening and overnight could become strong to
severe, with a primary threat of isolated tornadoes and damaging
winds. The threat for an isolated tornado will be greatest south and
east of the Triangle.

...A strong thunderstorm will affect portions of Richmond and eastern
Anson Counties Until 1130 PM EDT...

At 1038 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
near Cheraw, moving north at 40 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Rockingham, Wadesboro, Hamlet, Ansonville, Ellerbe, Dobbins Heights,
Lilesville, Morven, McFarlan and Diggs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter in a nearby building or vehicle. Wind gusts as high as
50 mph are capable of knocking down small or weakened trees and
blowing around trash cans, potted plants, lawn furniture and other
light outdoor objects.

Doppler radar has indicated weak rotation with this storm. If the
storm intensifies and rotation strengthens, a warning may need to be
issued.
