.AVIATION...
The general trend of storms through the afternoon and evening will
be an easterly motion with the highest chances of TSRA being at
TYS and CHA. A TEMPO for TS with MVFR vis/cigs will be included at
both sites from 18-22Z. Brief periods of IFR conditions may occur
with heavier rainfall. TRI is an a more stable environment, so
chances of a storm today appear too low to warrant a mention. Fog
may develop at all sites tonight, but confidence is low as it will
likely depend on preceding rainfall amounts and how quickly clouds
clear out. Clearing seems most likely at TRI so a TEMPO for MVFR
vis will be included there, with 6sm at TYS and CHA.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Southwest North
Carolina...East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

...Strong to Possibly Severe Thunderstorms possible this
afternoon and evening...

Scattered thunderstorms are expected again late this afternoon
with a few lasting into the evening hours. Some storms could
become strong to severe and will be capable of producing damaging
winds, up to quarter size and locally heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

...Strong to Possibly Severe Thunderstorms possible Monday
afternoon and evening...

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Friday through
Sunday. Some stronger storms are possible producing strong gusty
winds and heavy rainfall.

For Monday, a cold front will move across the Tennessee valley.
The airmass along and ahead of the front will be moist and
unstable. Widespread thunderstorms will develop across the area
with some storms becoming strong to possibly severe.

MEIGS AND SOUTHWESTERN ROANE COUNTIES UNTIL 130 PM EDT...

At 1252 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles west of Rockwood, moving east at 10 mph.

Half inch hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Rockwood, Spring City, Eagle Furnace, Stinging Fork Falls State Park,
Piney Falls State Park, Grandview and Ten Mile.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Grandview and Ten Mile.
