...Flash Flooding is possible across the area through the
overnight hours...

.Showers and thunderstorms will develop across southeastern 
Tennessee and far southwestern North Carolina later tonight as a
cold front builds south out of the Ohio River Valley. This 
additional heavy rainfall falling over already saturated ground 
conditions could lead to flash flooding. Precipitation will 
gradually taper off Tuesday morning as the boundary slides south 
of the area.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/
TUESDAY...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of Southwest North Carolina and East Tennessee, 
  including the following areas, in Southwest North Carolina, 
  Cherokee and Clay. In East Tennessee, Bradley, East Polk, 
  Hamilton, Marion, Sequatchie, and West Polk. 

* Until 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/ Tuesday

* 1 to 3 inches of rain have already fallen over the area.
  Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches, with locally higher
  amounts possible, will fall through Tuesday morning. 

* Rain falling over already saturated ground will lead to 
  potential flooding on roadways, poor drainage areas, low lying 
  areas and small rivers and streams across the area. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take quick
action if flooding is observed or a Flash Flood Warning is
issued. If you come to a closed or flooded road...turn around!

Mainly VFR to MVFR conditions expected through the TAF period.
Thunderstorms this afternoon may briefly drop sites to IFR.
Showers will slowly slide south overnight; finally moving out of
CHA near sunrise or a bit after tomorrow. MVFR to IFR fog is
possible at TRI and TYS early tomorrow morning, with how low
visibility drops dependent on how quickly rain moves out of the
area overnight and if clouds begin to thin.

Locally heavy rainfall will be possible, which may lead to
localized flooding. Additionally, strong to marginally severe
storms will be possible this afternoon with gusty winds and small
hail being the main threats.
