SOUTHEASTERN DUNN...CENTRAL CHIPPEWA AND WESTERN EAU CLAIRE
COUNTIES THROUGH 415 PM CDT...
At 311 PM CDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from Eagleton to The Big Swamp Area. Movement
was northeast at 25 mph.
Winds in excess of 30 mph and nickel size hail are possible with
these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Altoona, Lake Hallie, Bloomer, Lake
Wissota, Cornell, Elk Mound, Tilden, Rock Falls, Caryville and
Holcombe.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 94 in Wisconsin between mile markers 53 and 76.
U.S. Highway 53 between mile markers 86 and 115.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
