THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

.THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
Increasing moisture will lead to high coverage of showers and
thunderstorms across central Florida today. Showers and storms
initially along the Treasure Coast will lift north to northwest,
with increasing development farther north and inland into the
afternoon, as the east coast sea breeze develops and pushes
inland. Thunderstorm activity will increase in coverage and
intensity by mid to late afternoon over the interior counties, as
sea and lake breezes interact with thunderstorm outflow
boundaries.

Storm motion will be to the north-northwest at 10 to 15 MPH. The
main storm hazards will be frequent cloud-to-ground lightning
strikes, gusty winds up to 40 mph and heavy rainfall.

.FLOOD IMPACT...
Today's thunderstorms will have a more steady northwest motion
than in recent days. However, many areas have received heavy rain
in the past few days, leaving the ground less capable of absorbing
much more. Any additional heavy rain in these areas today will
increase the potential for low lying and poorly drained areas to
flood, as well as for water to pond on roadways.

.RIP CURRENT IMPACT...
A small but persistent and very long period swell will impact the
east Florida coast today, resulting in a high rip current threat
at area beaches. Check with beach control for local conditions
and only swim in the ocean near a lifeguard.

.MARINE THUNDERSTORM GUST IMPACT...
Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will occur this
afternoon, with the activity pushing northwest at 10 to 15 knots.
A few stronger storms will have the potential to produce wind
gusts over 35 knots as well as frequent lightning strikes over
inland lakes.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
Moist conditions will remain in place through the middle of the
upcoming week. Little, if any, interruption to the pattern of
scattered to numerous afternoon showers and thunderstorms is
expected.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be needed today. Rainfall observers
are requested to report measured rain amounts of three inches or
greater to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.
